I work at a hotel and the sign at the entrance clearly says not to come in unless you are wearing a mask. People come in without a mask and we don't have to check them in. "Virus? What virus?" Human stupidity will be the death of us.
Wear a friggin mask !
by Anonymous | reply 96 | June 2, 2020 2:46 PM |
Good for you. Sorry you have to deal with these stupid fucking cunts.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 29, 2020 6:37 PM |
Trump has turned masks into a political issue. How many people will this stunt kill?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 29, 2020 6:45 PM |
In my city supermarket last night on a crowded night (so much for counting people), about a fifth of the people weren't wearing masks, And I'm going to tell you who.
Every white shopper but three had a mask on.
Every African American shopper but five did not have a mask on.
Every Asian shopper had a mask on.
All workers had masks on.
I'm biracial and because of how people are here I didn't count myself in the tally, but I had a mask on.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 29, 2020 6:54 PM |
Someone gave me two paper mask last night, I was so thankful, because I can not find any at my stores.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 29, 2020 6:55 PM |
I would not run all over town looking for a mask or order online. A friend sent me one. Looks like a maxipad!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 29, 2020 7:02 PM |
Why wouldn't you order a mask online?

Mask troll poster
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 29, 2020 7:04 PM |
When some white peeps see me wearing a mask at the supermarket, they shoot me dirty looks.
IDGAF. I wear my mask and gloves, & smile behind my mask, & keep it movin’ !
I’m waiting another few weeks to start venturing out again. I’m being super cautious right now, and waiting to see how the numbers develop in my area before I decide to go back to flying and back to work.
I’m getting increasingly unhappy with being at home, but I have people to think about whom J live with and don’t want to bring this home to my family, or myself.
Better safe than sorry. Everything will still be here within 30 days or so, so I’m gonna continue.being extra cautious and will continue wearing masks and gloves in public areas until we have a vaccine.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 29, 2020 7:15 PM |
i'm not paying a hundred dollars for 10 masks.
i try not to breathe and then cough. lol
i am in and out. in general when shopping.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 29, 2020 7:39 PM |
Are you saying you don't wear a mask when you're out shopping, R9?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 29, 2020 7:41 PM |
R9, I just went on Amazon and searched. Masks are not that expensive. I saw 50 masks for $38; I saw another--4 cloth masks for $30; yet another--a 2- pack cotton washable mask with breathing insert for $18.
Do you not wear a mask at all when you're out?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 29, 2020 7:47 PM |
no...i also go first thing. live in an exburg. always in and out.
at least i have a mask for the tops coming over for service now.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 29, 2020 7:57 PM |
What's an exburg, R12?
And you think wearing a mask will help you when you're getting fucked? Do you know what social distancing means?

by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 29, 2020 8:12 PM |
Yes, please wear one. We all know how this could end and we have something that can protect us (we didn't have that luxury with the outbreak of AIDS back in the 80s).

I am in an area of the SE where the #s are shooting upwards. Near half the people aren't wearing masks in the grocery stores and elsewhere. Older men are among the worst. But plenty of women are without masks as well. I believe most are the less educated types and/or Trump supporters and Fox News watchers. They refuse to comply with social distancing as well. I've told a few at times to back off. I avoid going to stores as much as possible.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 29, 2020 9:46 PM |
I got my first post quarantine hair cut today. A customer walked in without a mask despite the fact there are two big signs on both doors saying a mask is required. 😐
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 29, 2020 9:47 PM |
R30, you didn't have any issues with the fact no social distancing was available to you or the person cutting your hair? And what were the conditions inside the hair cutting place?
It just seems to me like a stupid risk.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 29, 2020 9:55 PM |
Everyone was wearing a mask. I checked in on my phone and waited outside until they were ready. The stylist sanitized the chair and she was wearing gloves. There was only one other customer getting a haircut.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 29, 2020 9:59 PM |
Thanks, R32. What I pictured it would be like.
Where are you located, roughly?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 29, 2020 10:02 PM |
Outside St. Louis
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 29, 2020 10:03 PM |
I don't think they're going to be doing that anytime soon in NYC.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 29, 2020 10:05 PM |
When I don't see someone wearing a mask, I go out of my way to, obviously, put as much distance between us as possible and treat them like the selfish assholes they are. No need to say anything, they get the point - I don't want to be anywhere fucking near you. As this thing escalates again, and it will due to stupid people, the ones not wearing masks will be shunned more and more. Yesterday, even Turtle admitted people should wear masks as a (weak) pushback against Trump's idiocy.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 29, 2020 10:06 PM |
Haha, really, R36? That's funny about The Turtle, aka Moscow Mitch, aka Moscow's Bitch (that's really Dump)...yeah, I like the sound of your technique. I've done something similar. I saw something on the street (NYC) today that surprised me: an Asian woman, young, slender, pretty, wearing a willowy dress--and no mask. An Asian woman not wearing a mask startled me.
So, R36--would you get your hair cut?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 29, 2020 10:10 PM |
R37: Nope - I cut my own hair. Luckily, it is wavy, so you can't tell how uneven it is lol. Stuff like that don't really matter until I have to go back to the office in September, maybe?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 29, 2020 10:13 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 29, 2020 10:16 PM |
Gotcha, R38. I don't yet have the courage to shear my hair into a buzzcut, or even if I could do it. I've never a laid a scissors to my own hair. It will probably cone to that. I can't take three more months of my hair growing out.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 29, 2020 10:16 PM |
Wow, R40? How so?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 29, 2020 10:17 PM |

You think you’ll have to wait three months for a haircut? What part of the country are you in?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 29, 2020 10:27 PM |
NYC, R43.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 29, 2020 10:30 PM |
You’re not waiting three months. Almost all of the state is going to phase 2, which includes haircuts.
Granted NYC is far behind, but another two to three WEEKS at most.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 29, 2020 10:32 PM |
R38, if they open haircutting places where you are, would you then go?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 29, 2020 10:38 PM |
Still don't know that I would go, R45. Seems like a big, unnecessary risk.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 29, 2020 10:50 PM |
I hear you, r47.
But they have to wear face masks AND shields and they’re required to be tested every two weeks.
Just a thought because I’m in the same boat as you. And we’re leaking.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 29, 2020 10:57 PM |
I'll say, R48.
Boy, that's a lot to ask of hair cutters. Necessary but what a drag. And how many people will not bother?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 29, 2020 11:03 PM |
I’m in Iowa and easily half the population is not wearing masks in public. I’ve seen people bypass hand sanitizer stations at the front doors of business multiple times. Even the more liberal people are indifferent to it here. It’s a complete joke.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 29, 2020 11:03 PM |
True, r49, but if the state audits them and they can’t prove their tests and results, the State can yank their license.
But customers are also supposed to wear masks, but that’s impossible for someone with a beard or who wants a shave.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 29, 2020 11:05 PM |
I imagine there will be no beard trimming.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 29, 2020 11:06 PM |
I hate seeing all these beards, anyway. Shave your faces, you lazy pricks!
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 29, 2020 11:06 PM |
There would have to be. Some people go to the barber precisely for that. (I do.)
The customer would have to remove his mask for that is all.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 29, 2020 11:07 PM |
And that very much includes talk shows like Kimmel. It's like a look they're sporting--the "survivor of Covid" look.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 29, 2020 11:07 PM |
Uh, excuse me, r54, but I pay someone to do that for me.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 29, 2020 11:08 PM |
I guess I would smell you otherwise. Does someone shave your balls, too, R56?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 29, 2020 11:09 PM |
Ironically, and not joking, yes.
Well, also the pube trim.
And I’m not kidding.

by Anonymous | reply 64 | May 30, 2020 1:31 AM |
I’m in Boston and went shopping today. Everyone on the streets and in the store was wearing a mask, except for a couple homeless-looking guys.
I would imagine that masks and gloves may be out of financial reach for some people. Remember the early days of AIDS? There were free condoms everywhere, and for the next decade thereafter. Maybe we really ought to be offering free masks and gloves for anyone who needs it.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | May 30, 2020 1:35 AM |
R64 R63 selling is even more risky. Can I have your stuff?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 30, 2020 1:39 AM |
In Phoenix nobody's wearing masks already. The near 110F 43C temps might have something to do with it. Maybe 10% in the grocery store this afternoon. Half the grocery employees weren't wearing them.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 30, 2020 5:33 AM |

You also aren't giving totals of everyone in the store so if there were more black people or only two Asian people these numbers mean nothing.

That explains it. Just because the salon you go to does not offer that as a service doesn’t mean the overwhelming majority of barbershops don’t.
Go online and check any barbershop in your area for their prices. Guaranteed “hot towel shave” is on the list.

RE Barbers and shaves:
Traditional owner-operator barbers have shaves on their menu. The chain places do not. My barber owned a high end shop for a few years, and he did lots of shaves - at $25 each. It has to do with the clientele's available time and money. At his current place, I've seen him do 2 in 6 years.
Due to the Coviddening, he is prohibited from using reusable towels on his clients and must use paper towels. He used to give everybody a slap with a hot (or cold if you preferred) towel, but now he can't. And he took shaves off his menu.

by Anonymous | reply 83 | May 31, 2020 4:17 PM |
"Everyone has already been exposed."
How could you possibly know this, R83? Everyone? Everyone?
by Anonymous | reply 84 | May 31, 2020 4:20 PM |
R83: I took the Covid-19 and antibody tests last week and negative for both. That means I did not have Covid-19 when I took the swab test or had it in the past. I will continue doing what I have been doing so far, regardless of what anyone says. Mask, face shield, wash hands/items, nuke take out, 6+ feet away from all non-mask wearers, no elevators with other people, Vit C/D etc. I'd rather take my chances with that than take any chances with any other BS I hear.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | May 31, 2020 4:26 PM |
But... if if there's no vaccine; no definite info about multiple strains or mutations; and it's highly contagious... As it hangs in the air for months or years- isn't it inevitable that everyone eventually will be exposed?
by Anonymous | reply 86 | May 31, 2020 4:44 PM |
No, R86. It doesn't "hang in the air" for months, much less years.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | May 31, 2020 4:52 PM |
Jesus, R86--it hasn't even been around for years and you're saying it hangs magically in the air and has done so for years?
by Anonymous | reply 88 | May 31, 2020 4:54 PM |
I had three tests, too, all negative. I don’t know what I have. I may have just developed allergies, for the first time, at 60. I have to investigate further, as I feel like shit.
I’m going to continue with the masks and gloves and so forth, too. I have two family members who caught it. Both recovered, but one was in the hospital for 20 days.
R86, in February, I thought it was inevitable that we were all going to get it too, but unless we get a second wave, maybe we dodged a bullet?
by Anonymous | reply 89 | June 1, 2020 2:26 AM |
OP, about wearing a mask...
The scariest thing was on February 25th, when someone from the CDC said “We’ll have to learn to live in a different way.” Just think about what that means. We)re not done with this business, not for a year or possibly a few years. I think the CDC stopped being so frank because they were scaring people, but I would prefer to hear the truth and then manage my fear, as opposed to being in the dark.

Me too. Only for me it was March. I was in a very bad place then. I’m glad I feel (mentally) better because that was a scary and dark time for me.
