This Mortal Coil: Song to the Siren

I know of this song from David Lynch's Lost Highway.

I had no idea it was recorded in 1984. It sounds at least ten years ahead of its time to me (but maybe because I associate it with a film from the late 1990s).

Also, I had no idea it was originally a Tim Buckley song.

Also, it's from an album titled "It'll End In Tears" - appropriate for the DL!

Enjoy!

All the This Mortal Coil albums are wonderful! "Kangaroo" was my smoking cloves, writing in my journal, hating the world, waiting for a sweet boy to take me away from the Midwest jam!

The demo is so much better than the studio version.

Not to derail my own thread, but Buckley was such an amazing songwriter, r4.

One of my all-time favorite songs:

There's a box set available of the first 3 albums and a 4th with all the original versions of the songs. I just love This Mortal Coil!

This is my favorite song of all time. I still remember the first time I heard it sometime in the 80's while eating at the Moondance diner after a night of carrying on God I miss those days.
