Derek has lived many of his recent years under the microscope with his fame. He’s been a part of live dance performances and recorded ones and learned from both. He has noticed an uptick in sharing or “over-sharing” of information and has often wondered if it can all be too much. “But I think it’s beautiful if it’s used for the right reasons – in a good way, in a positive way,” he noted.
He is excited by the fact that he will have so much of what he loves doing recorded for his posterity. He also has tried to use the microscope to share good things and share positive energy.

Why has he become a thing on DL? He’s cheesy and ridiculous, yet not campy, and he’s not that good looking.
