I adore her. I find her very talented and first saw her in Loving. I find her gorgeous (coming from a gay male). What do you think of this talented and beautiful actress?
She has a very large and strong presence in Ad Astra.
And she is very beautiful

She has an unfortunate last name, and she should have changed it.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 26, 2020 6:21 AM |
Thanks, R1. I didn’t realize she was in it. I haven’t seen it, and now I have more reason to watch it (Brad Pitt fan too).

So very talented. And quite pretty. And she terrifies me beyond the possibility I might slip up on pronouncing her lady name should we ever meet. She’s 10/10 in my book.

R4, just use her gentleman name instead.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 26, 2020 6:36 AM |
She was great in Loving. Her Oscar nomination was a bit of a surprise but a very deserving one. She would have made a great winner though it was one of those rare years when all the nominees in the best actress line-up were good (Streep, Stone) to great (Huppert, Negga, Porter).

Whatsup my Negga, Ruth Negga
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 26, 2020 6:39 AM |
Negga, please.

It's pronounced nay-ZHAH

She was awesome in "Preacher."
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 26, 2020 7:07 AM |
She's adorable! First noticed her in Breakfast on Pluto. Looked it up and it came out 15 years ago! Time flies when you're an old fart.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 26, 2020 7:22 AM |
She was in the show Misfits which has quite the impressive cast (including her Preacher co-star Joseph Gilgun).

R2 don't be so Neggative!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 26, 2020 8:37 AM |
Any Negga enthusiasts should watch Five Daughters, probably available on streaming, a BBC drama about the murder of 5 prostitutes in Ipswich, an east England town, in 2006.
A truly gold star cast in a gold star ensemble - Sarah Lancashire, Vicky McLure, Jamie Winstone, Kate Dickie, Holliday Grainger, Aisling Loftus, Natalie Press, Juliet Aubrey, Kierston Wareinh, Ian Hart, Martin Compson, David Bradley, Anton Lesser and Sean Bradley.
A veritable who's who of British TV.

Huppert should have won that year. But yes I like her. Who is she dating?

OP, what did you just calm me?

She was amazing in "Hamelt" at St Anne's earlier this year.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 26, 2020 1:00 PM |
Hamelt? Mmmmmmmm.

R15 - she used to have a relationship with actor Dominic Cooper but they broke up.

R24, it doesn’t look that big there. Rather flat actually.

Loved her in Preacher.

Did Negga use a dildo? She couldn't do much without pushing against his penis.

Preacher was such a great, underrated show. She was the breakout star of it. At least to me.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 13, 2021 2:08 AM |
She has a small part in [italic]World War Z[/italic], but she's fine in it. Mostly I've seen her on the Agents of Shield show, on which she had a sad storyline. Good work.

She was great in Loving. Our family is from Caroline County and the elders remember when it all went down. She was a believable country lady from rural Virginia, very natural. I’m going to check out her other work! Thanks, OP.

Look at the negga right here.

I went to a screening of Passing last night. She’s excellent in it.

I have absolutely adored Ruth since I saw her role as Tulip O'Hare in Preacher. I also ran into her once while staying at Petite Ermitage in WeHo a few years ago...she was incredibly friendly and down to earth.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 4, 2021 7:38 PM |
So good in Preacher.

Is she playing a worn out, tired character like she did in "Loving". The entire film it was as if she was going to curl up on herself. I'm hoping this is a mildly more spirited performance for her.

[quote] She has an unfortunate last name, and she should have changed it.
What the hell are you talking about?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 4, 2021 7:51 PM |
Love her. Someone told me she's going to be Lady Macbeth on Broadway--with Daniel Craig!!!! I hope this is true.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 4, 2021 7:55 PM |
That is her name...she should keep it if she likes it.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 4, 2021 7:55 PM |
She got noticed in the UK for playing Shirley Bassey. Does anyone remember but I think she won a BAFTA for that, although the film was apparently not great.

I must confess that I'm not familiar with this upstart thespian's oeuvre. Will her work be spotlighted on TCM this month?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 4, 2021 9:17 PM |
R37, she plays a VERY high spirited character in Passing. Sort of a Blanche DuBois type. Very chatty and animated but holding down pain.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 4, 2021 9:26 PM |
Best part of Ad Astra even though she was on screen for ten minutes.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 4, 2021 9:32 PM |
She’s very pretty. Reminds me of Marion Cotilliard. Similar features.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 4, 2021 9:34 PM |
I saw her Hamlet at the Gate Theatre in Dublin. The rest of the production was pretty ordinary, but she was incredible and I went into it not very keen on the cross-gender casting.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 4, 2021 9:35 PM |
At the screening last night Tessa Thompson said “And next year go see Ruth in MACBETH!” Which was sweet of her but she said it in a theater so she just unwittingly cursed THAT production.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 4, 2021 9:41 PM |
R48, yep, it’s ‘The Scottish Play’ (although there is more than one of those).
