I disagree with R1, Roy Cohn was too too closeted to try to seduce a potentially powerful figure. I believe DT knew about Cohn's sexuality but it was never discussed. From Cohn, DT learned to always be aggressive and to never back down or apologize.

I do believe the reason for such an unmanly president being adored by people who don't like unmanliness is a mix of the responses posted by R4, R5, R6.
