I prefer the idea that he refuses to wear one because he can't tolerate the stench of his own noxious breath. He probably went through a dozen of them, claiming they all stink, making Ivanka sniff them before he'd put them on and finding, yet again, *this one stinks, too*. 3 different people told him that he was just smelling his own breath and he barked at them and sent them away, firing one. Finally, Ivanka broke through his addled brain and realized it was true, he was smelling his own breath, but he said "I don't buy it! There's something wrong with the material, probably made in 'Gina. I'm not wearing it."
