There was a rumor that Ken Osmond was porn star John Holmes. He was an LA cop at the time and his sergeant asked if it was true. Ken pulled down his pants to show it was definitely not.

Aw, Mrs. Cleaver, I was just playing around with Theodore. Ain't that right, squirt?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 18, 2020 6:35 PM |
I liked him. He brought just the right amount of 'weasel' to the character, plus IRL he turned into a pretty good (wounded in the line of luty, even) police officer.

He had respiratory issues but his obit said family was there. If Covid, that wouldn't be the case.

Ken Osmond's character of "Eddie Haskell" was just supposed to only make a couple of guest appearances during the first year of the show. However, he proved to be so popular that he became part of the entire six-year run of the show.
"Leave It to Beaver" ran for six full 39-week seasons (234 episodes). The series had its debut on CBS on October 4, 1957. The following season, it moved to ABC, where it stayed until completing its run on June 20, 1963.
Ken Osmond made an indelible mark on television history. For more than 60 years, "Eddie Haskell" was a household name Quite an accomplishment.

[quote] I give him and his parents credit for moving on with his life after "Leave It to Beaver." I have no statistics to prove it, but I think retired police officers die younger than the average man.
He continued acting until he could no longer make a living. He had a mortgage and a wife to support.
Average life expectancy for men = 78 [quote] The big whopper in the Aveni article, however, is the claim that officers live to be 53-66. If that were so, there would be no unfunded liability problem because of pension benefits. Police officers would retire at 50-55, then live a few years at best. But, for example, according to the state of California pubic employees' retirement system (CalPERS) actuary, police actually live longer than average these days, which isn’t surprising given that the earlier people retire and the wealthier they are, the longer they tend to live. And according to a 2006 report to the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System, these are the age-60 life expectancies for the system’s workers (meaning how many years after 60 they will live): -- Police and fire males: 22.6 -- General service males: 23.4 -- Police and fire females: 25.7 -- General service females: 25.7
So we see that police and firefighters who retire at age 60 live, on average, well into their 80s. That’s real data and not the hearsay used by apologists for enormous police pensions.

When I was a small child "Leave it to Beaver" was always in syndication and seemed ancient, although when I first started watching it it had only been off of primetime for five years! Sometimes it was on early in the morning and I would watch an episode before school. "Lassie", "Father Knows Best", and "The Real McCoys" were also very popular in syndication at the time and I enjoyed them all. Even though "Father Knows Best" was corny, it was very soothing, and I enjoyed Robert Young, which seems odd for a child.
RIP Eddie Haskell.

Tony Dow is 75 years old and may not be on Twitter or any other social media (and I doubt he has a publicist at this stage of his career). If that's the case, perhaps the only way he'll say anything publicly will be if some reporter calls him up and asks for a comment.

Again he continued to act until he could no longer get steady work. Then like any number of people he got a 9 to 5 in order to pay the bills. This praise being lavished on him for doing what any number of recognizable actors, who never really hit it big, is ridiculous.

Leave it to Beaver and I Love Lucy were the two shows of that era that had the greatest cultural impact. Yes, there were other shows, perhaps similar, however; those two remain the iconic examples representing an idealistic view of the 1950s and early '60s.

Did any of you ever have friends that were a Eddie Haskell? Super nice to your folks to their faces but would make fun of them behind their backs?
I used to make it a point that all my friends knew what a complete and total ass my step-father was before they met him. He was a horrid man. A drunken, abusive bully. But he was a salesman and had that (what he thought) was the ability to turn on the charm.
He thought that they all were admirers of his (nope). I never got the chance to have one up on the prick so it was kind of a little victory for me.

Feldman has not had to do that. He was a movie star, not a semi regular co star on one tv series.
