Threatening legal action.

They did the same thing to Allison Moyet.

by Anonymousreply 2May 16, 2020 1:21 AM

I don't know who he is. What did he do/say?

by Anonymousreply 3May 16, 2020 1:22 AM

He's old, fug and unknown, so who cares?

by Anonymousreply 4May 16, 2020 1:22 AM

For what?

by Anonymousreply 5May 16, 2020 1:22 AM

"Respect people's identities no matter what"

"Oh okay, I don't like being called 'cis'anything. I hope you respect that"

"NOOOOOOOOO THAT IS VIOLENCE!"

by Anonymousreply 6May 16, 2020 1:25 AM

It probably had something to do with this.

See the acclaimed British short film Sequins right here for free, the story of a teenager in 1990s Blackpool who wants to be a drag queen.

It took a Kickstarter campaign raising £6500 to bring the film into existence, and now the acclaimed British short Sequins has been made available for free viewing online.

Written by Amy Clarke and directed by Michael Beddoes, the film is a coming of age story set in Blackpool in the late 1990s. The character of Paul has a burning ambition to become a drag queen, something that earns him ridicule and abuse.

Robbie Gaskell takes on the lead role, in an ensemble that also includes James Dreyfus and Ben Willbond. And the movie has already picked up awards attention too.

You can see the film in its entirety here…

I just checked and one of the main losers behind this pathetic attempt at generating Twitter outrage (for publicity, of course) is some rogaine-powered He/Him Bisexual "Filmmaker" muscle mary named Kevin (the one in the pink sleeveless shirt). This complete and utter homophobic nobody had the gall to call Dreyfus a "c-list, washed up gay actor" lmao. The one who made the petition to get Dreyfus fired is a morbidly obese They/Them nonbinary named Billie.

Wake up. The alphabet soup fucking hates us.

by Anonymousreply 8May 16, 2020 1:50 AM

He seems like a DLer.

by Anonymousreply 9May 16, 2020 2:01 AM

This is Dreyfus' own affair, I want nothing of it.

by Anonymousreply 10May 16, 2020 2:18 AM

Well played, R10

by Anonymousreply 11May 16, 2020 2:33 AM

So what did he say??

by Anonymousreply 12May 16, 2020 4:07 AM

R12, "Please don’t bring cultism/ extremism to my door. Not ‘cis’. Adore animals, horror & true crime. Loathe identity politics & hysteria. Sometimes I act."

by Anonymousreply 13May 16, 2020 4:30 AM

Don’t see any issues with that

by Anonymousreply 14May 16, 2020 4:34 AM

Was he the lead in Gimme Gimme Gimme with Kathy Burke?

by Anonymousreply 15May 16, 2020 4:56 AM

Yes.

by Anonymousreply 16May 16, 2020 4:57 AM

I love him - he's hilarious. Fuck those trans-cultists.

by Anonymousreply 17May 16, 2020 6:56 AM

Humourless motherfuckers

by Anonymousreply 18May 16, 2020 6:59 AM

Have they actually got him fired from anything yet, OP?

by Anonymousreply 19May 16, 2020 7:04 AM

Apparently yes.

by Anonymousreply 20May 16, 2020 7:07 AM

He probably said everyone with a penis is a He/Him and don't try to tell us different!

How can anyone be so ignorant when it is a known fact that many women do have a penis!?

by Anonymousreply 21May 16, 2020 7:31 AM

According to his twitter he said he supported women's rights to seperate spaces.

by Anonymousreply 22May 16, 2020 7:34 AM

He also wrote 'Not "CIS"' on his twitter profile. Shock-horror!

by Anonymousreply 23May 16, 2020 7:45 AM

Trans and NBs are so 2018, I'm over them. They and their 'friends' (who would never fuck them by the way) tend to be insufferable, humorless, boring cunts. I try to avoid them wherever I can.

by Anonymousreply 24May 16, 2020 7:57 AM

They actually have another petition going to get him fired. They are calling on companies to not give him a platform. This job is an audiobook series. He’s not supposed to ever be able to work again. He’s reading a fictional series, not discussing trans issues. These people are truly insane.

by Anonymousreply 25May 16, 2020 3:17 PM

Because he said "I'm not CIS"? WTF

by Anonymousreply 26May 16, 2020 3:21 PM

So how do we support him?

by Anonymousreply 27May 16, 2020 3:28 PM

He was so cute back in his "Gimme Gimme Gimme" days. I don't blame him for his attitude, but surely he should have learned by now that if you're in the entertainment industry you'd better keep your opinions about the glorified drag queens quiet since many of them are profoundly insane.

by Anonymousreply 34May 16, 2020 4:12 PM

I love Kathy Burke -- though that accent can be difficult for Americans to understand! Does anyone know who that is at 1:47? And when she defended Dreyfus (also very funny in The Thin Blue Line series), who are the two sitting at the table NOT clapping at 1:59?

I loved GGG and I had no idea that Dreyfus took such a beating in the gay press. For the record, I'll entertain discussions of transphobia but "transexclusionary" must be wiped out. I don't feel that they're part of the gay community in the least. Go get your own group.

by Anonymousreply 35May 16, 2020 4:21 PM

He's a bit of a right wing Brexit supporter is James, which doesn't always win him a lot of friends with a lot in the more classically liberal acting circles.

by Anonymousreply 38May 16, 2020 4:29 PM

Journos with egos, I don't like em....

by Anonymousreply 39May 16, 2020 4:49 PM

What’d he do? Only thing brought up so far is that he said he’s “not cis”. Is that it?

by Anonymousreply 40May 16, 2020 4:59 PM

From what I can see, it started because he posted this in response to an article written by trans activist Juno Dawson who wrote that gay men are gay men because it is a consolation prize because they couldn't be women.

@DreyfusJames As a gay man, I’d just like to say this is perhaps the most fucking idiotic thing I have EVER read.

@DreyfusJames What makes me sad about this nonsense is how it affects some transsexuals who simply want to get on with life, without all this aggro & hatred coming from certain quarters of these ‘activists’. Doing so much more harm than good.

@DreyfusJames Let me just say (yet again), that I whole heartedly support the transsexual community. Always have done. My issue is with certain individuals who seem to think it’s fine to hate on women, lesbians, men , gay men etc. And claim to speak for ALL trans people. Night. Thanks all. X

The baldy man isn't clapping but clearly finds it funny, but old misery guts on the right looks like her bunion is THROBBING.

by Anonymousreply 43May 16, 2020 7:30 PM

[quote]He's a bit of a right wing Brexit supporter is James, which doesn't always win him a lot of friends with a lot in the more classically liberal acting circles.

Dreyfus is not "a bit of a right wing Brexit supporter" - he's repeatedly said he's not a Tory but as a British Jew he's naturally repulsed by Corbyn's Labour party, along with plenty of non Jews, and has voiced his support for other Jews under attack from Corbynites.

The idea pushed by the Corbynites that anyone who doesn't support Corbyn is a Tory is one of the reasons why Corbyn's Labour had their worst defeat for 80 years barely 6 months ago.

In his own words:

Quite happy for a Labour government. Just not under Corbyn. Absolutely not.

Come on, moderate Labour MPs. What are you going TO DO????

So May=useless. Moderate Labour=useless. Corbyn =atrocious. That’s it?? Fuck me.

by Anonymousreply 44May 16, 2020 7:46 PM

R29 A self-professed "filmmaker" and "screenwriter" with a thousand followers on Twitter (an embarrassing number given he whores himself out) mocking a man who has worked in the industry for decades and calling him irrelevant? Sorry, but that's fucking pathetic and hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 45May 16, 2020 8:09 PM

[quote]I loved GGG and I had no idea that Dreyfus took such a beating in the gay press

They kept going on about how the character of Tom was a stereotype and that we should be challenging the stereotype to show the straights we can be more than that or some usual self-hating shit. And then the same people would praise Will & Grace as fantastic stuff. I'm pretty sure Graham Norton had some of the same shit aimed at him during the early part of his career.

by Anonymousreply 46May 16, 2020 10:09 PM

I adored Gimme Gimme Gimme but also felt uncomfortable watching it, which really made the show the awesome thing it was. I sort of get why some gays had problems with his character but that's only because the character was something very real although over the top. But then again so was the whole show. It's hard to imagine anyone would really hate anyone involved in the show and I feel bad for Dreyfus for having gone through that.

If he's lost jobs because of these cunts he should sue them. Militant trans people are doing more harm for their cause by acting like this instead of being reasonable, and they are making gay people dislike them more and more.

by Anonymousreply 47May 17, 2020 12:11 AM

I think GGG worked because it was so ridiculously over the top and it was obviously that they were crazy and not normal people by any means.

by Anonymousreply 48May 17, 2020 12:22 AM

by Anonymousreply 50May 17, 2020 1:41 AM

Wow, the BBC fires him over signing the Stonewall petition over trans matters. Not really surprised as the UK is a PC nanny state at this point with the police calling people up over a trans critical re-tweet to see if the person is “thinking correctly”.

by Anonymousreply 54May 17, 2020 2:45 AM

R52, are you saying that transcunt made the petition that Dreyfus signed? I think you got something confused.

by Anonymousreply 55May 17, 2020 2:52 AM

R55, trans cunt started petition to get him fired; James signed anti-Stonewall petition over trans stance, as did Alison Moyet.

by Anonymousreply 56May 17, 2020 3:25 AM

R54, he was fired from BBC special for The Master.

Are trannies obsessed with the 'neurodivergent' label as well? They're worse than cane lesbians.

by Anonymousreply 59May 17, 2020 3:25 PM

All these people have their pronouns listed in their bios.

They don’t believe anyone says anything critical of them should be employed. Whats this platform they keep talking about? The jobs Dreyfus gets aren’t ones where he gets to talk about his personal views. It’s merely acting. I’m guessing they don’t want him to have any profile. A large profile can get followers to his Twitter account. This is frightening. They don’t want anyone to have a difference of opinion or in disagreement with themselves. In the UK opinions that deviate from what the elites have deemed acceptable come with a jail sentence. This is one thing that Americans have gotten right. I will never support hate speech legislation because of what Dreyfus and others are going through.

by Anonymousreply 60May 17, 2020 3:42 PM

Stonewall and trans advocacy movement have ultimately been a victim of their own success with the Trans Women are Women/Trans Men Are Men message.

We can have discussions where supposedly serious politicians promote the idea of biological sex being a spectrum but the when it comes to trans women it's binary - TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN - there's no willingness to differentiate between a trans woman who has legally changed their status, changed their name, had surgery etc, and a trans woman with a beard, hairy chest who flops around in jogging bottoms and demands women give up sex segregated spaces.

Until trans groups address the Yaniv Conundrum there will be push back.

by Anonymousreply 61May 17, 2020 4:03 PM

R62, they will scream at you that gender and sex are different.

by Anonymousreply 62May 17, 2020 5:23 PM

[quote]they will scream at you that gender and sex are different.

Orwell was so prophetic. He predicted people would change words and give them new meanings to fit their own ideology.

by Anonymousreply 63May 17, 2020 5:58 PM

R62, they pretend sex doesn't exist, only gender identity.

by Anonymousreply 64May 17, 2020 6:53 PM

Trans learned a long time ago that basically gays don't give a fuck about them, period.

Long excluded or at least given the side eye at major gay bars/clubs (at least the white/European ones). They also watched whenever "gay rights" in terms of anti-discrimination laws came up gays were happy to throw trannies under a bus if it meant getting those bills passed into laws (see Barney Frank and his efforts).

Once SSM became legal across USA and much of Europe large segments of *ahem* power gays and others moved onto other proprieties; marrying, having children, decorating their homes, etc.... Trans are determined not to be left out this time around and haven't been quiet since.

Where NYT once couldn't shut up about SSM, it shifted to trans issues soon as the former matter was settled.

Trans know that many people don't have much issues with gays; a group who fought and won removal of homosexuality as a mental illness ages ago. Trannies OTOH are a group many just don't have any use for, period. They are seen by both many gays and or course large majority of straights as mentally ill or at least disturbed persons. Gays have succeeded largely in making their lifestyle the new normal, now trans want that to happen for themselves as well. Jury is still out on how far they will get as many seem to be exactly what most would have them; a sandwich short of a picnic basket.

by Anonymousreply 65May 17, 2020 7:50 PM

Trans are nothing to do with gays, r65. We are attracted to people of our own sex, trannies hate their sex. They are two different issues so why the heck should gays have prioritised the loon demands of trans over our own needs?

Trannies should just get lost and start their own movement and stop hijacking the gay movement with their bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 66May 17, 2020 7:58 PM

R66

No one said trans and gays had anything in common, they don't really but that isn't the point of their movement.

If trans don't attach themselves to this moment of "equality" and "inclusion" for gays then they are done. Obviously there are those out there who agree since you have major push various entertainment/media and adjacent industries to push trans as the next big thing. Just look at how much ink has been spilled on Bruce Jenner's transformation...

by Anonymousreply 67May 17, 2020 8:08 PM

R67 they don't have to attach themselves to gays to gain acceptance. The issue is that they are using the gay rights movement to gain power for themselves that somehow always ends up taking power and protection away from real women. It's a misogynistic movement and it's dragging gays down because "LGBT" is the only allowed acronym.

And because the trans argument gets its power from attention whores, they have to include nonbinaries and pansexuals and "queers" (straight people) in with their nonsense, which gives them more power too. So gays end up getting pushed out regardless.

They're using our power to take our power away from us.

by Anonymousreply 68May 17, 2020 9:43 PM

Can we please stop focusing on this privileged, white, cis-gay man and start focusing on the INTERNATIONAL GROUP OF POWERFUL LESBIANS who are taking over the world??? I'm afraid!!!
