Why are GIFs suddenly disabled on this site, Muriel?

I didn't vote because, at the end of the day, who the hell cares? GIFs are a completely stupid waste of perfectly good pics. Hopefully they're banned permanently.

There’s another new pandemic raging uncontrollably: gray boxes all over DL. No gifs. A lot more sites where pics don’t show up in the link preview. It’s like Muriel is doing everything she can to decrease the joy on here. Gifs are huge on every message board, except here apparently where they’re no longer wanted.

It’s probably some fuck up with the code of this rickety old slop bucket that is DL

Gifs say "offsite" image when I try to post them now. If you click they will open, but I pay over a DOLLAR A MONTH to be a so-called member and that JUST AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH.

Gifs are a glimmer of joy in the desperate times. I need gifs of Nene Leakes, and gifs of twinks getting their holes licked. These bitches have taken them away now too. God help us all.

Why hasn't this problem been fixed yet?

Gifs have been disabled for me via DL for weeks now. This morning I find that videos (YT, TT, TWIT, etc) won't play.

And in the last few days, Instagram links don’t show in preview. They’re just grey boxes.

This site has progressively been falling apart. I feel bad for anyone paying for it lol.

I have links turned off because of Trump, but I hate gifs, too. I do like to look at the reddit dick threads and IG posts, though.

The only logical reason to disable them would be to lessen the bandwidth they use but then again I've always thought the linked pictures don't go through Mediapolis's servers. Pictures and especially gifs can be terrible data hogs. At Imgur you can see the amount of data transferred in each post and it's mind-boggling that, for example, a single 535 kb picture with 50k views has used 27 gigs of data in 7 hours. Obviously we have way less users here but still DL is not exactly a huge site and the data transfer expenses must be substantial. It's actually a bit sad that most usage seems to now come from porn pics, even if I say it as someone who's posted many reddit dicks here myself.
