When he went from Minneapolis to NBC News, that was clearly a step up. He seemed to be a rising star at NBC and even filled in at least once anchoring "NBC Nightly News." Then, suddenly, he leaves the network for the Fox affiliate in D.C. That's a pretty clear step down. NBC must have had a reason to can him.
