Anyone check it out? I never heard of it until I tuned into Creepshow but with all this time on my hands I figured I'd try it. It's based on a Joe Hill (Stephen King's son) nove.

Could have been good, but it's about a 6/10 for me. Maybe a generous 6.

It was dull.

I feel compelled to watch this show, but it's so bad.

We watched the last season and I have set it up to record this season but it isn’t very inspiring.
I think the lead actress is pretty good, but there’s also something about her I find grating and even a little gross, I don’t know what it is. Overall it’s a bit messy. We have no backstory or reasoning why this vampiric kidnapper/child murderer goes around doing what he’s doing and where his creepy Christmas theme park is, or why it’s there or necessary etc. etc.
I suppose this only made it to television because Stephen King’s kid did it.

This really is a bad show. Given the premise, it could be really good, but the writing and production are awful. There’s just no story, and what little story there is moves along at a snail’s pace.

Unwatchable

The Wikipedia description of the premise:
"NOS4A2 follows Victoria "Vic" McQueen, a young working-class artist who discovers that she has a supernatural ability to track the seemingly immortal Charlie Manx. Manx feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland—a twisted Christmas Village of Manx's imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic must strive to defeat Manx and rescue his victims—without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself."
Wow. Joe Hill better thank his fucking lucky stars that his daddy is Stephen King, because if he wasn't then something tells me he'd be working in a cubicle somewhere.

Stephen King is such a great writer that he can take the shittiest premises and turn them into works of art that become staples for generations. Why can't his kid write?
