There is a surreal video I saw once of her singing Holiday in a field with her two dancers.

There’s no info on it because it’s a shitty video. Both this and Everybody were low-budget videos because the label wasn’t going to spend big bucks on videos for a new artist until she was able to prove she could sell.

It looks like they're practicing their routine. She looks amazing, so does her brother Chris. This was just the beginning. I love her showing her belly, it was risqué at that time.

I grew up in the 80's. Unless you were Amish or Mormon, there was nothing risqué about showing your belly.

Madonna's early days at Sire are really interesting. No official video for Holiday which has become a signature song for her (it's been the closing song for Who's That Girl, Reinvention and Rebel Heart, not to mention the encore for Blond Ambition and Drowned World) and the single cover didn't have her face on it, just like Everybody.

And Holiday was her first hit. Surprising they didn't rush out a video.

In a way, Holiday kind of got an official video when Truth or Dare came out. I remember video channels would run the clip from the movie.

I think it's a pretty difficult argument to make that Madonna was not considered as risque or pushing boundaries back in the 80s.

Holiday is such a simple song, yet so happy and so lovely. So much pop today is aggressive and depressing and angry, it's so fucking boring. Even the production today is angry and aggressive, with the vocals so loud and jangling. And no, this is not an elder gay thing, it's an observation on the content and the style.

This video has always been like, "...huh?" As a fan going back to the 80's, I didn't even know it existed until some time in the 00's. It doesn't match the energy of the song at all.
