White Data Loungers, did you destroy your copies of Bey’s Lemonade?

Because you’re not meant to like it, not meant to discuss it, and your opinions on it don’t matter.

According to this Chinese woman.

But if you don't spend your white money on art that wasn't meant for you, you're a racist!

by Anonymousreply 1May 7, 2020 10:58 PM

as if Beyoncé would actually wear box braids if it wasn’t for a photo or video shoot where she’s playing up her blackness. She lives for silky long European style tresses to match her fair skin.

by Anonymousreply 2May 7, 2020 11:00 PM

Nazi fapper OP had to dig up some article from 2016 that no one read or paid attention to ignite the impeding race war. Sad.

by Anonymousreply 3May 7, 2020 11:03 PM

Formation is still on repeat when my white ass goes outside to power walk. Is that wrong?

by Anonymousreply 4May 7, 2020 11:03 PM

Very low energy, low IQ OP. Do the black panthers coming to rape your white nieces bit now

by Anonymousreply 5May 7, 2020 11:04 PM

The album is for ANYBODY. White people just can’t handle that she is acknowledging her black heritage.

And her natural hair is long. She doesn’t have very nappy hair.

by Anonymousreply 6May 7, 2020 11:13 PM

Because your not part of the Beyhive. But the Chingchong Murder Hornets will take care of that.

by Anonymousreply 7May 7, 2020 11:22 PM

NOOOOOO! I love my Beyonce Lemonade album!

In truth, I cannot read OP's header because he/she/it/they is a troll and that's what happens when you ignore trollz. They get beheaded.

the feed cuts the title off at Bey....I'm good at assuming.

by Anonymousreply 8May 7, 2020 11:27 PM

pretty sure Bey aint complainin so why are these nobodies whining

by Anonymousreply 9May 7, 2020 11:30 PM

This article is four years old and it really shows.

by Anonymousreply 10May 7, 2020 11:32 PM

OP is too stupid to live!

by Anonymousreply 11May 7, 2020 11:35 PM

Ironic that her name is Karen.

by Anonymousreply 12May 7, 2020 11:35 PM

Wow the " create a divide by the use of incendiary racebait threads" trolls are going hard today.

by Anonymousreply 13May 7, 2020 11:37 PM

I thought it was unlistenable. Her solo voice is grating, and the music was all over the place and ugly.

by Anonymousreply 14May 7, 2020 11:37 PM

Really don’t care about beYAWNce

by Anonymousreply 15May 7, 2020 11:40 PM

Yes. Her "talent" certainly is not for me.

But it's not because I'm white, since I'm biracial. It's because she's a commercial, over-produced dim bulb who lacks intelligence, depth and any actual commitment to anything but keeping herself phat.

by Anonymousreply 16May 7, 2020 11:59 PM

It’s 💩

by Anonymousreply 17May 8, 2020 12:27 AM

I never listened to it.

by Anonymousreply 18May 8, 2020 12:42 AM

Piss-ade

by Anonymousreply 19May 8, 2020 12:53 AM

Pffft...I don’t own any Beyoncé records.

by Anonymousreply 20May 8, 2020 12:55 AM

It’s actually good.

by Anonymousreply 21May 8, 2020 2:02 AM

It's a great album. It should have won Album of the Year. Even winner Adele said so.

by Anonymousreply 22May 8, 2020 2:14 AM

It was actually a much better album than 25. I don’t know how she lost.

by Anonymousreply 23May 8, 2020 2:15 AM

Are is self expression. The only person it's made for is the artist.

And whether an album in which every song has dozens of different writers with the lead "artist" contributing barely more than one word should really be called art is highly debatable.

by Anonymousreply 24May 8, 2020 2:28 AM

[Quote] I don’t know how she lost.

Because J and Bey aren't hot shit like they make out to those who work in the industry.

by Anonymousreply 25May 8, 2020 2:42 AM

She sounds really ghetto and uneducated when she speaks.

by Anonymousreply 26May 8, 2020 2:45 AM

Lemonade is the only Beyonce album I like.

by Anonymousreply 27May 8, 2020 2:48 AM

R26: you do know you can be "of middle eastern descent" and still be incredibly racist.

by Anonymousreply 28May 8, 2020 4:15 AM

R26 shes not from the ghetto... sooooooo

by Anonymousreply 29May 8, 2020 4:41 AM

When life gives you Lemonade, make lemons.

by Anonymousreply 30May 8, 2020 5:00 AM

I've always questioned why Beyoncé lost to Adele. Now, I don't love everything Beyoncé does and sometimes it's like people are always kissing her ass. But Lemonade was a great album and it had such an impact in 2016.

But, so did Adele's, although I felt it wasn't that much different from her previous album. Maybe it was because Beyoncé's album was released earlier in the year and Adele's had dominated the fall/winter of 2016.

by Anonymousreply 31May 8, 2020 5:10 AM

R22, your opinion doesn’t matter if you’re white.

The whole point of the album according to the blogger is to communicate to black women things that are only a black womans concern. Jay cheating on her? That’s not your business to judge, white person.

by Anonymousreply 32May 8, 2020 4:14 PM

“Copies”? Like physical CDs?

by Anonymousreply 33May 8, 2020 4:17 PM

CDs? Who buys CDs? Delete that Lemonade NOW from your itunes, says the bloggeress.

by Anonymousreply 34May 8, 2020 4:24 PM

Butthurt much, OP?

by Anonymousreply 35May 8, 2020 4:35 PM

Well r32 it’s obvious now why Bey didn’t win Album of the Year. You just revealed it!

I guess if white people’s opinions don’t matter, their votes don’t either.

by Anonymousreply 36May 8, 2020 5:47 PM

r2 That's true, Beyonce always has been a fan of that platinum blonde hair.

by Anonymousreply 37May 8, 2020 6:01 PM

[quote] It's a great album. It should have won Album of the Year. Even winner Adele said so.

1. The Grammy's rarely reward the "best" album or song. If Beyoncé expected that, she's even dumber than she looks.

2. Adele shouldn't have apologized, it just played into that whole "white guilt" thing. And she won the award fair and square.

3. LMFAO @ Solange and others who were threatening to boycott The Grammys in response to Beyoncé losing. If you care that much about The Grammys, you need therapy.

by Anonymousreply 38May 8, 2020 6:06 PM

Most importantly....

4. Rihanna's Anti was a better album than Lemonade. Far less hyped (Rihanna doesn't have the cult of personality Beyoncé has) and more enjoyable.

by Anonymousreply 39May 8, 2020 6:07 PM

[quote] Lemonade was not made for me, either. As a Singaporean Chinese woman, I would be lying if I said I was familiar with the complex, myriad ways Beyoncé explores black female personhood, sexuality, and spirituality in the film. But as a non-American, non-white woman, what I am familiar with is appreciating art that is not and will never be made with me in mind.

This is a really long-winded way of saying "I am a pretentious dumbass from Singapore, a nation-state filled with robotic people".

by Anonymousreply 40May 8, 2020 6:11 PM

[quote] We’ve already seen white entitlement play out this year in the reactions to Rihanna’s use of Barbadian patois in her hit song “Work”, which can be summed up in a single question: “But what is she singing?”

How is any of that entitlement? Maybe they had no idea what she was singing because she was singing in PATOIS!

by Anonymousreply 41May 8, 2020 6:13 PM

Snoresville. I’m sure Beyoncé wants as many people as possible to buy her work.

by Anonymousreply 42May 8, 2020 8:59 PM

“if I knew white folks were going to buy my albums I‘d never have recorded them”

by Anonymousreply 43May 8, 2020 9:28 PM

R43, I can easily see Lauren Hill saying something like that.

by Anonymousreply 44May 8, 2020 9:29 PM

she did! then said she was misquoted

by Anonymousreply 45May 8, 2020 9:30 PM

R45, wow, what a big surprise. She's cracked out of her mind half the time so she's probably more "honest" than she normally would be. Didn't she also write some derogatory lyrics about Koreans on the Miseducation Album?

by Anonymousreply 46May 8, 2020 9:35 PM

according to Snopes she never said it

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 47May 8, 2020 9:36 PM

R47, ok, good to know.

by Anonymousreply 48May 8, 2020 9:39 PM

R47: you think that's gonna stop people here?

by Anonymousreply 49May 8, 2020 9:45 PM

R29 so it's faux street cred? Kind of like Lauryn Hill claimed she wish street even though she was raised in an upper-middle-class New Jersey suburb, her parents were doctors and teachers.

by Anonymousreply 50May 9, 2020 1:53 AM

I don't care what any racists think.

by Anonymousreply 51May 9, 2020 1:55 AM

Beyonce has good hair so I don't know why she's ascribing that attribute like it's so new and rate. Maybe she's Becky with the good hair herself.

Don't you all think a decade of seeing long Kardashian, Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, Kate Middletown slightly wavy hair is old? We've seen whole DECADE OF IT!

That's hair like this is the 'good hair' in my book. It actually has personality! Finally something besides the long wavy and the oh-so-rebel shoulder length blunt cut!!

Diane wears wigs

by Anonymousreply 53May 9, 2020 2:05 AM

Fuck you, R32. Go finger yourself to "Formation" and fuck off.

by Anonymousreply 54May 9, 2020 2:25 AM

who?

by Anonymousreply 55May 9, 2020 2:26 AM

R50: where did Lauryn Hill claim she was street?

by Anonymousreply 56May 9, 2020 2:47 AM

"But as a non-American, non-white woman, what I am familiar with is appreciating art that is not and will never be made with me in mind."

As someone who is white but who isn't a straight man, I'm familiar with it too.

Hell, as a fan of old black-and-white movies, 19th century literature, and 16th century paintings, I'm even more familiar with it! Those things sure as hell meant for me and my modern eyes! So get over yourself, bitch, the majority of human beings are familiar with enjoying stuff that wasn't catered for their tastes, and don't need to be lectured about it.

by Anonymousreply 57May 9, 2020 2:52 AM

R13, I was thinking of calling them the "See How They Are?" Trolls, but your description is more apt.

by Anonymousreply 58May 9, 2020 3:16 AM

[Quote] Maybe she's Becky with the good hair herself.

Nope.

by Anonymousreply 59May 9, 2020 7:13 AM

The most overhyped and bland "legend" today.

Not a great singer.

Doesn't really sell many albums.

For a so called legend, she doesn't really have the hits to back up that claim.

by Anonymousreply 60May 9, 2020 7:16 AM

0/10

by Anonymousreply 61May 9, 2020 8:02 AM

I never listened to it nor cared. I don’t want to summon Janbot but Janet Jackson did this type of music way better, 30 years before.

by Anonymousreply 62May 9, 2020 8:49 AM

Love the hypocrisy of an Asian girl telling white people to stfu about a record/video because it’s made for black women only.

That job should’ve gone to a black woman; Talk about entitlement.

by Anonymousreply 63May 9, 2020 1:12 PM

Was Becky with the nice hair ever exposed? Was it Lori Loughlin?

by Anonymousreply 64May 9, 2020 2:13 PM

no it was Rita Ora, who as an Albanian is POC-adjacent.

by Anonymousreply 65May 9, 2020 8:28 PM

no it was Rita Ora, who as an Albanian is POC-adjacent.

by Anonymousreply 66May 9, 2020 8:28 PM

Why do straight white men and a good amount gay white men hate Beyonce so intensely? Is this your way of transposing your hatred of black women in 2020 onto this one woman? If not, what black women do you like? Seriously........

by Anonymousreply 67May 9, 2020 10:30 PM

[quote] If not, what black women do you like? Seriously

Wow, I had no idea disliking or hating Beyoncé meant you hate all black women. I'll make sure to write this down in my "What NOT to Do" book.

by Anonymousreply 68May 9, 2020 10:33 PM

The desperation in this thread to create race wars.

Flop bait.

by Anonymousreply 69May 9, 2020 10:34 PM

R67, I’ll list them (note: all have talent)

Diana Ross

Alicia Keys

Donna Summer

Helen Adu aka Sade

Jabba

classic disco divas like Carol Douglas, Linda Clifford, The Ritchie Family,

(black adjacent) Mariah Carey

by Anonymousreply 70May 9, 2020 10:50 PM

I agree with R70 and would add:

Grace Jones

Sister Rosetta Tharpe

Gladys Knight

Whitney Houston

Dionne Warwick

Ruth Brown

oh, and the real queen, Aretha Franklin

That's just off the top of my head...I know there's more. All fabulous and far more talented that dull old Beyonce.

So, yeah...try to make it about race because you don't care much for a particular person.

Dumbass.

by Anonymousreply 71May 9, 2020 11:07 PM

"Why do straight white men and a good amount gay white men hate Beyonce so intensely?"

No, dear, it's Meghan Markle they hate intensely.

Beyoncé seems to inspire mild to moderate dislike, and a bit of bewilderment.

by Anonymousreply 72May 10, 2020 2:20 AM

I think Kelly Rowland’s vocals on “When Love Takes Over” were a 1000 times more legit and soulful than anything Beyoncé has recorded so far.

by Anonymousreply 73May 10, 2020 3:14 PM

R73 but Kelly didn't have Bey's dad in her corner. In fact, he was sabotaging her career when DC split up.

by Anonymousreply 74May 10, 2020 3:32 PM

how stupid of her to trust him, even letting him manage her solo career. OF COURSE he was going to play Berry Gordy and make Weaveoncé the Diana.

by Anonymousreply 75May 10, 2020 5:11 PM

Four year old article. Hmmm... I'm busy being outraged by other things right now.

by Anonymousreply 76May 10, 2020 5:14 PM

It is so funny to me how non-black SJWs are the ones who seem to put Beyoncé on this pedestal the most. Rihanna has outsold Beyoncé but people act like Beyoncé is as big as Adele--she's not! And really, why is Beyoncé talking about sex in her music considered so groundbreaking? Madonna and Janet were doing that in the early 90s long before Beyoncé was even a thing. Madonna talked about getting her pussy eaten and Janet talked about rope burn, bdsm, boom boom boom until noon noon noon, etc. It seems like millennials and Gen Z have such limited frame of references when they laud artists like Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, etc.
