Natural sleep remedies/sedatives for chronic pain/insomnia?
I've tried Kava, Valerian, Lemon balm, Melatonin, catnip, mugwort, ashwaganda, white willow bark, passion flower, lavender, hops, cannabis, chamomile, damiana, poppy seeds and warm milk...
But I know there's some type of soma out there I haven't tried that's going to fix me. Suggestions?

Tincture made from indica cannabis in a Magical Butter Machine. Currently on pre-order - they must have sold a ton of 'em for Mother's Day.
A teaspoon in a glass of water is all it takes.

Seconding magnesium. I started taking 400 mg magnesium bisglycinate, once in the am, and once in the pm.
I also take glycine powder or glycine crystals in water, up to 10 grams.

Indica THC for sure. I had a cookie last night and slept for 11 hours. It is wonderful.

I listened to my doctor after a really upsetting inpatient admission. She prescribed Seroquel (Quietiapine 50 MG). It changed everything for me. I went out with my brother today, and he said I was no longer a zombie. I can't tell if it will last, but I have to have something to look forward to. I planted a new pine tree today (my brother did for me).
And I got a sweet piece of news. My sister (who can be a bit dour) told my brother how personable I was, since I talked to everyone and was never the least bit shy. Really, I'm just a scatterbrained chatterbox, but so what?

L-theanine is the only thing that has worked for my insomnia. (I have tried everything, from supplements to prescriptions.)

How much weight have you gained on it, R7?

Glycine. I get it from collagen powder but you could try it on its own as well.

A combination of wine and hard liquor can usually knock me out- the most effective so far has been a “French Bulldog” (a margarita with champagne)... I finished my drink, blinked, and it was four hours later.

I have glycine. It helps mood in the daytime too.

Indica weed. Keep trying other strains if one doesn’t work. One will work, guaranteed. Try to not eat edibles on an empty stomach, more effective if they have some fat/oil to bind to in your stomach to help with absorption. GABA Calm is nice too.

OP I have tried everything on your list and more. Nothing worked. Then a few weeks ago someone suggested that I switch my devices (iPhone and iPad) to yellow light after 5pm. I thought that this was the benefit of kindle and had no idea it was an option with iOS - I work in IT and have drunk the Apple Koolaid but had no idea.
Sleeping like a baby for nine hours every night since then. YMMV but putting it out there and wishing you luck! Insomnia is hell.

Supplements: Magnesium citrate: take 250 mg before bed. It relaxes the muscles. Take more if it doesn't give you diarrhea.
THC: microdose. I get the gummy fruit belt and cut it into 16 pieces, each one being .625 mg and take just enough to do the job. I live in Washington state, so it's legal and easy to get here.
Prescription: Tizanidine: an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist muscle relaxer. I take it for muscle spasms and it helps me sleep! Gabapentin: an anti-epileptic, anticonvulsant. I takeit as needed to treat restless leg syndrome. Really helps when the RLS acts up.
OP, if you think you have RLS, there are online quizzes you can take. RLS has caused me to lose countless hours of sleep and the gabapentin really helps. Good luck!

R9, surprisingly, nothing. I went into the hospital for a Vitamin D deficiency, and spent several days on an IV. I wasn't eating enough. I still have a bit of a struggle, but cheese omelets seem to have solved the problem. And I'm still not fat (yet).
