I guess this is where her mother lived. They must have settled her estate.
I actually kinda like it.
My mother would LOVE it.

It's very boring, isn't it.

Soo generic-looking.
zzzzzzz...

Looks like an Italian villa.

It's better for a house that's for sale to be "boring." Presumably anyone purchasing it would personalize it to their taste, and it's easier to imagine yourself somewhere that's a blank slate.
That's actually not a bad price. Of course, property taxes come to nearly $40K per year, but that's California for you.

Actually pretty nice. I like the courtyard and outdoor fireplace. And thankgod they didn't fill it full of tacky staged furniture.

Certainly isn't lacking for counter space in the kitchen. Damn!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 7, 2020 6:02 PM |
R7, is there space for entertaining?

A lot of house for an only lady. Can’t imagine she needed that huge walk in closet for her Depends

Silly little swimming pool in a comparatively vast backyard.
It looks like one of those houses where a Manson murder would happen.

That's a normal sized pool, in a small backyard.
An immaculate house built in the 2000s looks like the site of a Manson murder, OK.

Those tiny clerestory windows in the cathedral-ceilinged living room just look awkward, with those small windows and door below.
From the inside view, I wondered why they hadn't gone with taller windows, but then I saw that the portico over the terrace is only one story, and basically bisects the living room horizontally on the outside. But still, surely they could have increased the size of those ground-floor windows for a better interior proportion?

Those clerestory windows are very characteristic of the houses style.

Thanks guys, for mentioning clerestory windows. Never heard of them, but I like them. Give you light but also privacy.
Anyway, those houses, from the curb POV, are built relatively close to the property lines. Then there's a lot of green space in the back yard area. The back yard does seem private.
The pool does seem small compared to the scale of the house.

Why doesn't California have any trees?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 7, 2020 11:47 PM |
The entire state, r15?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 8, 2020 12:10 AM |
Yup I'd take it, thanks. So funny the "ew, no thanks" comments on here.
As if you've ever even had a chance at a place like this.

The Kitchen is so massive. I wouldn't know what to do.
