Heaton's sitcom had an interesting premise and a great supporting cast. It wasn't horrible.

I didn't understand the point of "Man with a Plan". It just seemed to follow the formula where the husband is a lazy idiot and the wife is smart and bossy.

I don't think "Broke" has aired more than 3 or 4 episodes. Wasn't this the show that the network gave to Pauly Perette to make up for what happened with Mark Harmon on NCIS?

I never watched Tommy, even though the lead actress is talented.

So what the hell is the network going to use to fill these free 2 and a half hours?

Yeah. The Edie Falco premier show put me off. I couldn’t finish it. I know that they have to do this. But the whole production is armed at selling you on the idea of the show. Tough likable hometown girl becomes chief of police, thwarting TPTB by using her street smarts to help the downtrodden.

I know it is supposed to be character development. It felt more like I was expected to lap it up because I liked her than really any effort to entertain me.

TV is so horrible these days.

Everything on "free" TV is so bad. All doctors/fire/hospital shows, forensic shows, or bad reality TV.

I liked Patty's cooking show on Food Network. I think it only ran two seasons but she made good food.

The CW or Fox could pick it up along with Man With a Plan. They did it for Supergirl.

I liked Tommy.

R16 and Supergirl went to shit after that.

I'm glad they didn't cancel "Bob hearts Abishola". It kind of ripped off Billy Gardell's previous show, "Mike and Molly": an unconventional couple with a host of over-involved, zany relatives and coworkers.

Patricia Heaton is not a Trump supporter, and she used to be a Democrat. She no longer participates in politics. Her big issue is abortion; she is pro-life/anti-choice.

The article linked in OP said Madam Secretary ended this season. Is there an unaired run of episodes still to come? I don't recall the last aired episode being any type of finale.

Patrica wont hurt for $$$, she was recently on "The Talk" in quarantine, and she kinda showed off her house a little and it looks like she's done really financially from her career in sitcoms. So I wouldn't worry about her at all.

I'm sure she has at least $150 million in the bank. So she'll be fine.

R26, did you see the episode of Madam Secretary (12/08/19) in which Stevie and Dimitri got married? That was the finale. They only did 10 episodes the last season. You can watch the last five for free on cbs.com.

I was actually getting to like Tommy. I missed it during most of April because CBS seemed not to be showing any new episodes. But there were five new episodes, none of which I watched until I read this thread. It's a fairly decent soap opera, not a procedural, like most CBS crapulence.

If Blue Bloods isn't on, I don't go searching through CBS programs.

R20, Young Sheldon is a smartly written, funny show with well-drawn characters that touches the heart from time to time, but with a feather and not a sledgehammer.

Carol was underwritten and overacted and had no idea what to do with its characters.

Just watched the last episode of Tommy. It went out slam/bang; a satisfying ending; wrapped up the storylines yet left the door open for more. I wonder if there's a chance another platform will pick it up.

I liked the way they ended Tommy, too, r44. I just wish that one person had still been alive.
