Brad Pitt seems like a down to Earth kinda guy, then there is always Dolly of course. In general, actors and male celebs, females know they are easily replaceable and fastly expiring, so alot of high strung insecure antics come with that.

Kathy Bates is rightfully beloved. She was very sweet when I met her, and friends who had similar experiences working with her confirmed how great she is.

I've only ever heard nice things about Shakira, and I think you'd have to be extremely nice, forgiving and even-tempered not to clash (at least publically) with uber-diva J.Lo. But who knows ...

It's weird. The biggest, wealthiest celebrities are either super kind and down to earth, or they're stone cold bitches. No in between.

Doris Day was always completely unaffected and down to earth. I visited her dozens of times, both in Beverly Hills and later in Carmel.

Her favorite mode of transport was her bike and she would bicycle all over Beverly Hills, dining in unpretentious places like Nate n' Al's Deli and the Hamburger Hamlet. I never saw her refuse to sign her autograph and stop to listen to someone thank her for either her work in the entertainment industry or her work on behalf of animals.

One time a bus filled with tourists seeing the stars' homes, slowed down in front of her North Crescent Drive home while the driver told the busload that Doris Day lived there. Seeing how excited everyone was (this was in 1980), she walked down her driveway to the front gate and spent twenty minutes chatting with the tourists, posing for photos and being completely gracious to everyone. Afterwards she commented to me, "At least when they return home they can tell their family and friends that they saw one celebrity....."

Vanessa Williams is supposedly super laid back. She somehow navigated the minefield that was the Desperate Housewives set so I’d buy it.

I can personally vouch that Ian McKellen and Angela Lansbury are both extremely nice people.

Apparently Kathy Bates lost quite a bit of her hearing when she had chemo for her cancer. Although she now wears hearing aids, she often gets frustrated when she can’t hear people clearly. People on set would have to yell when communicating with her. Maybe this could be interpreted as being difficult when it is simply frustration on her part. This was told to me by a friend who worked with her. He said otherwise she was very professional and down to earth.

Brooke Shields- My mother went to a party (on Long Island when she was in HS) and Brooke and her snooty friend Lisa something (an actress that did not get too far- few movies) were there. My mother was sitting at a table waiting to use bathroom and Brooke sat down. They started talking (my mother was freaked of course). She said Brooke was super nice, and she was at the height of her fame at the time (it was back in the 80s). Her friend walked over and was a bitch and looked at my mother as if she had a nerve talking to Brooke. She told Brooke she wanted to leave. Brooke was really nice and said nice talking to you have a great time...my mom has loved her since. Just a really nice person.
