Mourning In America

From the Lincoln Project, a group of anti-Trump Republicans including George (husband of Kellyanne) Conway.

Really got under Orange Twitler's skin as he unleashed a series of unhinged tweets about it this AM.

Making the view count go into the millions will make him even angrier, so for that alone I am posting it.

Happy to help by clicking, OP. Well done piece.

by Anonymousreply 1May 5, 2020 3:29 PM

It was aired during Tucker Carlson's show, obviously a deliberate choice because they new Trump would be watching LOL.

by Anonymousreply 2May 5, 2020 3:30 PM

Yep! Clicking away!

by Anonymousreply 3May 5, 2020 3:33 PM

Trump is really upset over this ad, calling Kellyanne’s husband “moon face” and other things. Trump, classy and eloquent as always.

by Anonymousreply 4May 5, 2020 3:33 PM

watching now

by Anonymousreply 5May 5, 2020 3:34 PM

I hate Trump with the heat of a thousand suns, but fair is fair, and those factories and vacant houses were abandoned long before Donald Trump took office.

Trump is the tip of the iceberg. Wall Street, in its never ending quest for cheap, slave/child labor, caused the downfall of American Main Street, not Donald Trump.

by Anonymousreply 6May 5, 2020 3:37 PM

I'm grateful that they're doing these ads. But this one, in particular, makes me a little queasy. It's clearly targeted toward people who still fetishize and jerk off to memories of St. Ronald Reagan.

That said, anything that can get more middle of the road voters to vote for Biden and against Trump, the better.

by Anonymousreply 7May 5, 2020 3:38 PM

Love it! I don't even care that it targets Reagan fetishizers -- let them fight each other like bugs in a jar.

by Anonymousreply 8May 5, 2020 3:40 PM

As well it should R7

If you are a bunch of anti-Trump Republicans, your core audience is older Reagan voters who need to be persuaded that Trump is the reason to not vote GOP in the 2020 elections.

by Anonymousreply 9May 5, 2020 3:41 PM

Share it on FB and wherever you can. I never used to offer political opinions ,I was raised to believe religion and politics were private matters , but this insanity has to end.

by Anonymousreply 10May 5, 2020 3:44 PM

It's good.

by Anonymousreply 11May 5, 2020 3:53 PM

WOW!

by Anonymousreply 12May 5, 2020 3:54 PM

Remember when we were told the “president” was being back manufacturing?

That was 4 years ago.

Manufacturing was down before the Corona hit. Manufacturing went down in the last four years.

by Anonymousreply 13May 5, 2020 4:30 PM

R6, the reason he was “elected” was because he claimed to be bringing back the factories.

The record will show that was a bald faced lie.

by Anonymousreply 14May 5, 2020 4:31 PM

[quote] [R6], the reason he was “elected” was because he claimed to be bringing back the factories.

That was just a front. He won on hate.

by Anonymousreply 15May 5, 2020 4:32 PM

Really nice AD.

by Anonymousreply 16May 5, 2020 4:37 PM

yeah, I agree with r15. There's the reasons people said they voted for him, and the reason they actually voted for him. And agree with YMH. I'm way to the left of this ad, but I ain't the target. Getting some old Reaganite Republicans to think again about this bastard is a very good strategy.

by Anonymousreply 17May 5, 2020 5:49 PM

Evening bump

Now at over 1M views

by Anonymousreply 18May 6, 2020 1:56 AM

It would be so glorious if he fired Kellyanne Cuntway over this.

by Anonymousreply 19May 6, 2020 1:58 AM

^Great!

by Anonymousreply 20May 6, 2020 1:58 AM

This ad, which was played during Tucker Carlson's show, got under Trump's skin. Couldn't stop tweeting or talking about it.

He must know from his pollsters that his handling of COVID-19 is his Achilles heel. His response is typical - avoid all responsibility. He's shutting down the the COVID federal task force and leaving it all to the states. The states doing the right thing need to borrow from the Fed, he already said no states will be bailed out

Cruelty -- his supporters are irremediable. They'll buy it hook line and sinker. Won't even bother contacting Nana as she expires in her COVID-ridden nursing home.

by Anonymousreply 21May 6, 2020 2:07 AM

Thin skinned baby. He can dish but can't take. Unstable idiot.

by Anonymousreply 22May 6, 2020 2:07 AM

Texas will need federal money. They were hit by this and the oil crash. Ooops.

by Anonymousreply 23May 6, 2020 2:08 AM

For the most part I liked the video and the message. There were some parts of it, like the buildings and home that were in ruins, that have probably looked that way for years. These ads do not need to over-hype the message but rather be extra careful to just show current and honest views. We don't want critics to point out that the message was over exaggerated.

Keep up the good work Lincoln Project!

by Anonymousreply 24May 6, 2020 2:11 AM

R24 That is with every ad. They are often ridiculous. I'd make the point, yes those houses were always there and he didn't make shit better.

by Anonymousreply 25May 6, 2020 2:36 AM

Are you an advertising creative R24?

by Anonymousreply 26May 6, 2020 12:00 PM

What had happened not only did the factories close down but mining declined as we use less coal than we used to. Plus the fact any coal we do use is mostly using automated methods to mine it now.

by Anonymousreply 27May 6, 2020 12:08 PM

The anti-Trump Republicans need to band together, agree to vote Democrat just once to ensure that Trump is forced to leave the White House (and get him completely out of the media for good!), then make plans over the next four years to fix what has become messed up. Ensure everyone whom Trump brought in is removed as well. They may cringe voting for Joe, but at least they can start to help cure these woulds which will only grow filthier and ooze more puss if Trump is re-elected. If not, there's always the way the Praetorian Guard did it in ancient Rome with Caligula.

by Anonymousreply 28May 6, 2020 12:33 PM

R28 I believe all of them are enthusiastically voting Dem and have been since this thing was installed. I've heard several of them say republicans need total annihilation at all levels of govt or they won't learn from this.

by Anonymousreply 29May 6, 2020 12:37 PM

[quote] older Reagan voters who need to be persuaded that Trump is the reason to not vote GOP in the 2020 elections.

or better yet, not vote at all

by Anonymousreply 30May 6, 2020 12:43 PM

Bump.

by Anonymousreply 31May 6, 2020 12:51 PM

Good mourning.

by Anonymousreply 32May 6, 2020 1:11 PM

This is the reason Trump was rage tweeting at 1 am the other night calling George Conway "moon face". I donated $50.

by Anonymousreply 33May 6, 2020 1:18 PM

r31=moron

by Anonymousreply 34May 6, 2020 1:24 PM

[quote]I believe all of them are enthusiastically voting Dem and have been since this thing was installed.

Pretty much. The Lincoln Project has already endorsed Biden and released at least one ad for him.

Rick Wilson who wrote Everything Trump Touches Dies is the GOP ad guy behind this.

by Anonymousreply 35May 6, 2020 1:35 PM

Elections have consequences. We are now in shambles. True, he didn't cause this pandemic but the response has been abysmal. There have been multiple times a competent president could have made a real difference yet he has failed every single one of them and made things worse.

Farmers have excess food rotting- he could have mobilized the full weight of the federal govt to fix this. He didn't.

by Anonymousreply 36May 6, 2020 1:56 PM

This is a great ad. We need to see more of these.

by Anonymousreply 37May 6, 2020 2:04 PM

I really like this new ad, I've watched so many times.

by Anonymousreply 38May 6, 2020 6:28 PM

[quote]Are you an advertising creative [R24]?

No, but he's quite the politician, notice how he sandwiches the detailed criticism between two generic compliments.

by Anonymousreply 39May 6, 2020 8:24 PM

Because he is NOT a leader. He's an entertainer, a carnival show barker, playing to his idiotic audience.

FACEBOOK PULLED THIS AD!!!!

AFTER LETTING ALL THAT RIGHT WING PROPAGANDA SPREAD FOR YEARS!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 41May 10, 2020 5:13 PM

Why did they do that? Who's side is Facebook on anyway?

by Anonymousreply 42May 10, 2020 5:15 PM

This is a huge scandal. If you have Facebook you need to delete it or make a statement against this.

by Anonymousreply 43May 10, 2020 5:15 PM

I put it on my Instagram account and within five minutes, it was replaced with a "False Information" flag. You have to click through to watch it--but then have to click on the playing video three times to hear the audio. Amazing that Facebook and Insta allow so much right wing Propaganda but a political ad that states facts is "false information" because it upsets Orange Anus? Fuck them!

by Anonymousreply 44May 10, 2020 5:16 PM

I just cannot figure out the Conway marriage.

It isn't like the Carville/Matalin marriage, where no matter what they seem to be completely love, and they support and care for each other, even if they dislike or disagree with the person one of them are working for.

Is it some kind of bearding or sham marriage, a toxic George/Martha type of marriage? I can't believe they really love one another. If he really believes Trump is as bad as he claims, how can he still love her? How can she love a man, who is trying to take down the man she got elected and in whom's administration she serves? It would be like a marriage between a Bible Thumping fundamentalist preacher and theistic Satanist. I guess there could be lust, but a marriage isn't built on lust. The only thing, I can think of is that they must be having a huge amount of passionate rage sex, which is something I really don't want to picture.

by Anonymousreply 45May 10, 2020 6:03 PM

[quote] Amazing that Facebook and Insta allow so much right wing Propaganda but a political ad that states facts is "false information" because it upsets Orange Anus?

Why do you find this "amazing", R44? Which party do you suppose Mark Zuckerberg votes for?

by Anonymousreply 46May 10, 2020 8:00 PM

R46, you're a cunt.

by Anonymousreply 47May 10, 2020 8:18 PM

This is actually shocking even still with everything else.

This is so blatant.

I don’t see any false information flags on all the right wing garbage.

by Anonymousreply 48May 10, 2020 8:22 PM

I sometimes get the feeling that Conway is just pretending and is going along with sane people and he will someday reveal he has been playing us all this time.

How else to explain his relationship with his wife? One of them is bullshitting us.

by Anonymousreply 49May 10, 2020 9:36 PM

R47, you're naive.

by Anonymousreply 50May 10, 2020 10:45 PM

R49: That would be Kelly Anne

by Anonymousreply 51May 10, 2020 10:48 PM

This was excellent and I've read they have more on the way. Trump loves to play dirty but the second he takes a sharp elbow to the nose he has bawling meltdown.

by Anonymousreply 52May 10, 2020 11:07 PM

I mean fuck right wing garbage- Facebook lets all sort of hate speech around the world go unchecked.
