Families where everybody marries an immigrant

Have you ever known a family where all of the kids married people from other countries? I used to date a guy who brothers and sisters all ended up with Latino partners. And I don’t mean Latino and grew up in America but they were all straight from South America. None of them were educated and two of the women could barely speak English so it almost seemed as if they wanted partners they could control. The family was super super Western European too so it’s not as if they had any culture in common. It just seems too weird to just be a coincidence.

I know a lot of people like this. One of them is a situation like yours. Two of the sisters are married to guys from Latin America, one from Mexico and the other from Peru. The girls are super white but very well traveled and cultured. I think they fetishize non-white cultures a little bit, but not in a bad way. I think a lot of privileged WASPS are like that, to be honest. Anyway, their marriages seem stable. Now, the other people I know who are all married to immigrants, the situation is shadier. All of the female cousins are married to Middle Eastern immigrants. I know at least two of those guys were looking for greencards and one of the guys is a total domineering, abusive prick. The girls were desperate to get married and have a family, so I guess they settled for a guy who didn't really want them.

I ONLY marry immigrants. They are the classiest wives. No one knows how to be a wife like a Eastern European hooker.

Now that I think of it... we know a brother and sister who are totally American but the parents came here from some Eastern European country. The brother married a woman from Belgium, and the sister married a man from Spain. She divorced him and married a Dominican. Both arrogant SOB’s, too.

Two sisters I know married Moroccan men. Both men are engineers and work for Lockheed Martin. I sister has one daughter and she's gifted; same class as my daughter. The other sister has a daughter and a son; son was on the same soccer team as my son. Nice lives, very nice homes, involved fathers; the sister that had 2 kids, the daughter got a BMW 325, in high school.

One of my aunts was married three times and had kids with each husband. Our cousins that she had with the second husband both married immigrant men of color (who are very nice people). We always thought it was interesting.

R6, yes. But his father was on him, big time. He finished high school and went a small college. Don't recall what he does now. This was 10 years ago. He would be 24/25 now.

It could be that they're marriages of convenience, in order to gain citizenship. Depending on the situation, it usually pays $10-15k and involves staying married for three years. I know several people, from several countries, who have done this. Sometimes its because the American wants EU or foreign citizenship also.

I had a friend from South America who married an American man for citizenship. They married for the green card, but fell in love more or less and wound up as a regular couple. They divorced rather amicably when their children were teenagers.
