This Biden Sexual Assault Story Keeps Coming Back
Now the WaPo is reporting the latest “developments:”
[quote]Apparent corroboration surfaced this week for elements of two accusations made by Biden’s former Senate aide Tara Reade, one involving harassment and the second a sexual assault. Biden has not commented on the allegations, but his campaign has denied them and pointed to his record on women’s rights and promotion of women in his offices.
[quote]Lynda LaCasse, who was one of Reade’s neighbors in California, where Reade moved after working for Biden, said in an interview with Business Insider published Monday that Reade told her in the mid-1990s that Biden had “put his hand up her skirt and he put his fingers inside her.”
[quote]Lorraine Sanchez, a former colleague of Reade’s in the office of a California state senator, also told the news outlet that Reade told her in the mid-1990s that she “had been sexually harassed by her former boss while she was in DC and as a result of her voicing her concerns to her supervisors, she was let go, fired.”

I posted this on another thread but will also paste it here:
The Biden "sex scandal" is so predictable and so hilariously weak. At the end of the day, EVEN if Biden did something like this (he DIDN'T) - what ground do these GOP thugs have to stand on? I mean the rap sheet on Trump alone is a mile long. Don't get me started on the rest of this gang of thugs. The rules are different for Democrats and Republicans. You should know this by now.

Because we are Democrats someone will eventually force him to from our own party before the Republicans go to town on him with it.
It doesn't matter who won the nomination. Any scandal will be reviewed, ripped, teased, and analyzed to death as much as possible by the media without regard for who we want in the White House or how horrible the person currently there might be.

Biden was Vice President for 8 fucking years -- and the subject of presidential campaign rumors for 4 years following that. You really think that if this story had legs it wouldn't have been vetted to death by now? The media hasn't given Reade much airtime for a reason.
Good luck trying to make this a thing. It's the best shot Trump has at trying to derail Biden (after that whole Ukraine thing didn't work out) and it's weak as shit. Looking forward to Orange Hitler losing in a landslide.

THIS.
It keeps resurfacing because no one in the democratic party is coming out and addressing this at all, which makes no sense at all given that the woman's story has more holes than a slice of swiss cheese.
Biden should have had a virtual press conference on TV yesterday and denied the accusations. Instead the story is snowballing. Where is everybody?
Democrats need to stop letting Republicans control the narrative. They're desperate at this point and willing to do anything to win. Ignoring this isn't going to work.

Here’s why I don’t believe her: Joe Biden is a very subtle creepy toucher. He does the kind of shit that makes women uncomfortable but it’s not “rape-rape”. He’s the kind of guy who will grab a woman’s upper arm and steer her around while walking alongside. And maybe his knuckles will graze her breast. Nothing overt, nothing scandalous, but you still feel grossed out. “Oh, that’s just the way he is. He thought your hair smelled good! It’s a compliment!”
He gets his kicks from that halting reluctance of women who don’t want to be seen as “uptight”.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 28, 2020 9:59 PM

^^ these guys don’t actually assault anyone. It’s so subtle they do it in front of everyone.
He wouldn’t push a woman agaibst a wall and stick his hand down her panties. That’s too forceful. He’d brush the back of his hand against her ass in the middle of a crowded conference room.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 28, 2020 10:01 PM

R40, I think it’s a combination of that and coming from a touchy feely family. Grabbing a woman’s pussy isn’t really the style of guys like this.
There are some guys and women raised very touchy and they don’t think about it like some others do. Think of the women who are always hugging everybody at work, or the guys always walking around with their arm over somebody’s shoulder. These people are not pussy grabbers. They don’t think of themselves as being overly aggressive. If you tell them they are, they’re shocked.
If people don’t like to be touched they need to sack up and say so. It would be great if everybody knew what you liked without saying anything, but they don’t.

The Atlantic's Peter Beinart calls for Biden to release his senatorial records. Biden's accuser believes that her sexual assault/harassment complaint could be included in those records.
Beinart says-
[quote] Tara Reade’s allegation against Joe Biden is not going away. Reade, who worked on his Senate staff in the 1990s, accuses Biden of sexually assaulting her in a hallway....
[quote] Business Insider interviewed a former neighbor who said, on the record, that Reade told her in the mid-’90s that Biden had pushed her against a wall and put his fingers under her skirt. Business Insider also talked to a woman who worked with Reade after she left Biden’s office, who remembered Reade saying she had been sexually harassed by her boss in Washington, D.C.
[quote] None of this means Biden is guilty. But it does mean the presumptive Democratic nominee should unseal his Senate papers so that the public has a better chance of finding out.

I want to know why Biden hasn’t addressed this directly. It looks bad. Twenty years ago he could have ignored it maybe, but you can’t do that now. I hope he doesn’t think he can just ignore her because that’s just adding fuel to the fire.
There’s no way to prove a negative, unless there’s no record she was ever there, but I think she was probably there. And what records are still around after that long? Some of the people that worked there are probably dead by now.

Mainstream Democrats had better close ranks. None of the Al Franken takedown bullshit.
The media are out for blood, because their primary candidates didn’t win. Left Twitter too. Soon the Pod Save America guys, who love to be woke (self-sabotaging) and worship the Squad. They’ll really get going when Biden chooses a mainstream Democrat as his VP. Their goddess, Abrams, will try to ride the wave.
This is the next “but her emails”. True Democrats need to be 100% behind Biden. Investigate each accuser and find the evidence that shows that they’re crazy, selfish liars. The media won’t be investigating: they’ll be trumpeting the accusations and expressing “concern” about Biden.
Biden won’t pick Warren. She’ll then try to lead the “concern” movement, with the Squad and the fawning, desperate media, possibly with the thought that she can help Bernie seize the nomination in exchange for the VP position.
We’re three scorpions in a jar: the media and the far left, Biden and mainstream Democrats, Trump and his cult backed by Russia. One will win when the others are vanquished. There’s no room for compromise anymore.

R75 is completely correct. As Dems, we often tend to "eat our young" and I hate this fact. The reprehensible GOP looks cringe-worthy as they fawn all over their Führer and blatantly stand behind every revolting new thing that he pulls (hard to even keep track 3.5 years in..). I hate them...but I do have to respect the outcome. There must be some sort of middle ground where we can both maintain ethics and uphold a sense of decency while still getting behind our party and supporting the common party goal of dethroning an evil malignancy of a party. A party that has not won a fair presidential election since perhaps the 1980's, yet has still managed to infest and destroy this country despite being backed by only a minority of voters. I am ready for war. We need to keep every Dem congressman and Dem politician in check and unite as a unified party (for once) to effectively battle and conquer our enemies. I have no tolerance for dissension within the ranks - not this time around.

WaPo has published other BernieBro stories, R71. All the mainstream media does that now, because they're looking for clicks, not looking to inform the public.
The key thing to remember about Tara Reade's accusation is that the plainly said she didn't report this earlier because she forgot it happened. Swear to god, she said that she forgot that Biden raped her until someone else brought it up in January. Then LaCasse also said in an interview that he forgot it happened, too, until Reade mentioned it to her, but then suddenly he could recall an entire conversation she overheard in 1993 word for word.
McHugh conveniently never mentioned that LaCasse had been contacted by Reade before she went to the media. It looks too much like coaching.
Then Nathan Robinson of Current Affairs admitted to coaching Tara Reade's brother.
