Terry is still in ICE custody. Going on 4 months now. To update everyone, I finally got him a lawyer a few weeks back, after he became ill with what is now confirmed to be coronavirus. He was tested recently and had antibodies - he is now immune and cannot infect others as well.
His lawyer submitted a parole request to ICE based on his mental health diagnosis - bipolar disorder, for which he is medicated. They denied him, of course, like they have denied most everyone, because he is young and doesn't have any underlying conditions that could make him vulnerable to coronavirus if he were (re)infected.
So the lawyer will file a lawsuit/writ for habeas corpus in federal court. It was a group suit at first, but now it has be done individually. It will be filed early next week, in collaboration with a private law firm. She thinks his chances of release are much better this time around.
I'm in a booking.com rental in Jersey City, trying to get caught up on school work and other projects. I had a really bad Airbnb experience recently in which my Macbook Air, which I only had for a few weeks, was stolen. I won't go into the details, but maybe it was fast karma for stealing that package? It was a really sketchy part of Newark and I got involved socially with one of the fellow guests, something I never do. I managed to buy another one, same model, for a few dollars cheaper, on Amazon, in the meantime, while the police do their thing.
I'm applying for remote jobs and hoping I get something soon. Like by next week soon. Hope everyone is well.
