They just renewed it for 3 more seasons a few months ago.

While the ratings for the show on NBC are nothing special anymore, it performs very well in syndication (hence why it's shown constantly somewhere on cable) and on streaming platforms.

As a femme lesbian, most lesbians I know are slightly more femme-y than masculine presenting; the more masculine ones are just easier to read as gay but don’t make up the majority of the lesbian population.

I think it’s a good step, especially if they don’t make it a big deal like she needs to out herself officially and have a storyline about homophobia. In this day and age, it’ll be nice if it’s just as normal as a straight character. That said, there are rumors about Mariska so I’d rather that she fall for a woman but she is married to her work, as they always present it. Noah is parented by babysitters at this point!

R32, the problem is that lesbians and female cops and detectives are always portrayed as young and attractive. Where is the lesbian Sipowicz? Where is the female Lenny Briscoe, other than Lacey? How many detectives in real life look like Rizzoli and Isles? Women and lesbians will have made a mark, not by having still another young, attractive portrayal, but one who goes against the television norm and is accepted as much as Sipowicz or Briscoe. I thought women did not want attractiveness to be a criterion for getting a job over competence.
