I don't think we will ever get the full story on why he left TEEN WOLF, especially since he reconciled with Jeff Davis and returned to the show for a few episodes. In the Schon interview (at least I believe it was Schon), Colton hinted at the shadiness of how things were dealt with on the show. At the time of his departure, though, the talk was that Colton/Podwall was trying to get more money and Podwall was playing hardball and when he couldn't get the money, Colton walked. I'm sure Colton believed that if he left better things would be awaiting him. A lot of times managers fill their clients' heads with that idea that they are big shit and that there are many opportunities awaiting them if they just ditch the show that's "holding them back".

The Arrow business was Colton's mental health issues.

It's a well known negotiating tactic to ask for too much money when you don't want to do the deal at all. If "Divergent" truly was a strong possibility for Colton, his team may have tried this tactic with the "Teen Wolf" people. "Teen Wolf" may have been keen to keep Colton on the show, especially if he was suddenly a movie star, and thus they tried to get him to recur for the next season(s) - shades of Farrah Fawcett/Charlie's Angels.

I'm still waiting for someone to write a book about what went down on the Teen Wolf set. I think Colton could have done one more season since it revolved around his character.

I also find it funny that Jeff hasn't really done anything since Teen Wolf ended.

I'm not that good at remembering plot points (especially on Teen Wolf, since it could get confusing) but it would have been pretty easy for his character to be dead, at the end of season 2. Instead they had his character go to England. So they weren't willing to kill him off. There was also some talk by Jeff Davis before S5 that Colton might come back. He even brought back Crystal Reed once (as the Maid of Gevaudan) so he must have liked working with these people.
