Was your family *that* comfortable with nudity?
Would you let your dad photograph you nude in the shower, like Ansel Elgort did?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 24, 2020 7:44 PM |
If I looked like Ansel and my father was a professional photographer, yes.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 22, 2020 5:10 AM |
Is his father Ansel Adams?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 22, 2020 5:11 AM |
Yes I makeout with my father.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 22, 2020 5:15 AM |
Ansel's dad demanded photo credit for that picture (which he did not initially receive).
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 22, 2020 5:17 AM |
Those of you answering "Yes," why? Just curious.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 22, 2020 6:21 AM |
Only if we were European.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 22, 2020 6:27 AM |
I was going to say they strike me as a very European like family, so yes. I would rather have the dad do it than the sister who did his calendar shoot. And if I could have a world class photographer shoot me or a friend from LaGuardia I go with the professional.

Oh, and check out the body of work by Sally Mann who photographed her three children nude for a large chunk of their childhood. She’s perhaps one of the top five photographers of the second half on the 20th century. This is one of the most famous of her works entitled The Last Time Emmett Modeled Nude. And before you scream pedo, please note this is on a Government website owned by the National Gallery of Art.
Unfortunately Emmett is no longer with us, he developed schizophrenia as a young adult and also struggled with issues from having almost died in a car accident that happened prior to this picture and was part of the inspiration for it. All in all he seemed like he was a pretty cool kid and had an idyllic childhood in rural Virginia.

You Americans are so conservative.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 22, 2020 7:31 AM |
I would let my father take my pic, and I would take his. It would be fun. He's got a great bod.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 22, 2020 7:39 AM |
[quote] Just curious.
"Just curious" is the phrase trolls use before they start arguing with you about your opinion.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 22, 2020 8:08 AM |
I'm saying 'cheese' as I type.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 22, 2020 8:14 AM |
Only if he fucked me after
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 22, 2020 8:14 AM |
R8 That kid looks fucking miserable.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 22, 2020 8:32 AM |
Well, it wasn't just a snapshot. His dad is a photographer for Vogue.

R14 This was about the third or fourth time Sally did the shoot and it was getting to be late into October at that point and the water was quite cold. Emmett had lost patience, hence the fact that he categorically declared that this would be the final time he posed nude for her and was pushing back on ending the session when she took one last shot, and magically all the elements fell in place. It is a photograph that is a masterclass in what great photography is and can be studied up against all the other versions, which do not meet the criteria of masterpiece.
The car accident earlier that year, which he walked away from, never-the-less irrevocably changed something in him being so close to death and also profoundly affected Sally and how she saw her work. All of that is a culmination and deeply imbedded in the image his body language, expression and demeanor. One could look at it as the moment of the loss of innocence and transformation into adulthood.
An earlier photograph makes a nice compliment to this one. Emmett is in a ditch that narrows and flows into the river. It is both a canal as if he is about to be born, but also a grave. Family and friends surround and observe him, are they in a state of wonder and delight or mourning and repose?

Yes, because we are Japanese and the whole family of us always takes a bath naked in a sentō. And probably because we are not 399 lbs like most Americans.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 22, 2020 5:05 PM |
R16 Wow. You seem invested.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 22, 2020 5:40 PM |
R18 I have enjoyed R8 / r16 posts. It was something I was not aware of, and it’s interesting.

His mom and dad must have helped him clean his dong before. Something familiar, obviously. Or OP let the dog clean his dong instead of his parents?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 23, 2020 6:24 PM |
Nudity is both not a big deal, and hot. Sometimes both.
All I know is we need lots more of it by young men.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 23, 2020 6:36 PM |
That's why I would do. Whore out my own child. That's some good parenting! I wonder what Dad would do if he caught him doing heroin. Buy him a speedball?

by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 23, 2020 7:54 PM |
No. But I’d let YOURS.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 23, 2020 8:13 PM |
The reverse is equally disturbing--would you photograph your adult child nude?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 23, 2020 8:16 PM |
Instagram made him take down the picture because they say violated their community standards.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 25, 2020 5:28 AM |
Of course I’d be cool with it. But then, I’m not American.

His mom grew up in Larchmont and his dad was born in Brooklyn but grew up in New York City.

Was he a suicide? I wouldn’t be surprised. Having your parent repeatedly present you nude to the world, over a period of years, can’t really be super healthy.
It’s just not done. For obvious reasons.

by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 26, 2020 1:11 AM |
Yes I would and I have.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 26, 2020 1:13 AM |
I don’t even consider him before he gets that mole removed...
by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 26, 2020 1:16 AM |
Elgort is such an ugly name
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 26, 2020 1:24 AM |
He has a large, flat head. His body is decent but he’s not leading man material.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 26, 2020 3:17 AM |
Yeah, probably. I'm not ashamed of my body nor am I uncomfortable with it being seen by others. It's just a body, everyone has one so I don't see the big deal.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 26, 2020 1:24 PM |
Where are the outtakes
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 24, 2020 4:59 PM |
R9 No, we just have boundaries
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 24, 2020 5:02 PM |
No, but I would have liked to photograph my father nude in the shower especially if he was a shower.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 24, 2020 5:03 PM |
Buttahface.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 24, 2020 5:04 PM |
My father was not artistic and legally blind, so no I would not. But if my father were a photographer I probably would have. Also, I never really appreciated that I had a very good body up until my early forties, so it would have been nice to have artistic photos of my body when I was in my prime.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 24, 2020 5:06 PM |
I grew up with my dads junk flopping around in briefs as thats all he wore when home. Nudity was never a big dirty thing in our house . It wasnt encouraged, but if it happened it was no big deal . So yes,Id have let him photograph me.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 24, 2020 5:17 PM |
Not with that horrible posture!
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 24, 2020 5:32 PM |
my family is very uncomfortable with nudity. Probably too much. Lately, I just don't care that much. the whole trauma of nudity just seems weirder and weirder to me as a I get older.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 24, 2020 5:35 PM |
I’m sure that Europeans look at this situation differently than us Americans.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 24, 2020 7:26 PM |
Yeah, we still have that stupid puritan streak and are easily traumatized by pretty much everything. On the other hand, all the cameras everywhere, all the dick pics everywhere, all the amateur porn everywhere, I'm not sure we can sustain this whole nobody should ever be naked or see anyone naked thing.
