Remember This Frau Hairstyle?

What the fuck was this called?

This is Jo Dee Messina in 2003, and this cut was everywhere!

I really hated it, and the halter tops and bootcut jeans...

Is the Most Frau Hair Ever?

Jo Dee Messina liked trends. Here she is in 1996 with the trendiest hair of the era. Ugh.

Her music is Peak Frau.

Here she is in 2005 at her Frau zenith! Blech!

She looka like a man.

Nothing will EVER beat this frau concoction.

Dear Lord in Heaven!

by Anonymousreply 5April 21, 2020 10:54 PM

I suppose some sort of choppy bob with layers. As many hair disasters as there were in the last few decades, women's hair has gotten painfully dull over the last 10 years or so. Just long flowing mermaid hair or ponytails on 90 percent of women. Boring.

by Anonymousreply 6April 21, 2020 10:54 PM

If you hate it so much OP, why did you start a post about it?

by Anonymousreply 7April 21, 2020 11:00 PM

Is that hairstyle not The Rachel?

by Anonymousreply 8April 21, 2020 11:01 PM

I actually liked the choppy/piecy bob of the early 2000s. The highlights that accompanied them where bad though.

r8, The Rachel predates this bob.

R4 that is THE "speak to the manager" haircut.

by Anonymousreply 10April 21, 2020 11:03 PM

Ugh, Mandy Moore had that awful sprongs Jo Dee Messina haircut in 2003!

OP, this hairstyle is coming back (it's been almost 20 years, that's when these trends tend to come back). A frau in my old workplace had it.

by Anonymousreply 15April 21, 2020 11:15 PM

Who was this person?

by Anonymousreply 16April 21, 2020 11:17 PM

What a god awful hairstyle m. Have these bitches no shame?

by Anonymousreply 23April 21, 2020 11:23 PM

And it's coming back?????

by Anonymousreply 24April 21, 2020 11:26 PM

R9 - I really liked that hair on Meg as well. Her lithe body, cute face, blond coloring, etc. were made for that look. She should just stick with it forever (minus the horrible cosmetic facial surgery that she sports now).

by Anonymousreply 25April 21, 2020 11:27 PM

How did they make the sprongs stick out like that?

by Anonymousreply 26April 21, 2020 11:29 PM

I thought the Meg Ryan hair was a Sally Hershberger creation. She charged $1,000 a styling session (20 years ago) She holds the scissors perpendicular to the head as she cuts.

by Anonymousreply 27April 21, 2020 11:40 PM

It sure looks like the photo at OP is The Rachel.

by Anonymousreply 28April 21, 2020 11:47 PM

I've always loved the Fonda "Klute" era Shag.

by Anonymousreply 29April 21, 2020 11:58 PM

She's hardly a frau. And I like the cut.

by Anonymousreply 30April 22, 2020 12:02 AM

She is the epitome of Frau.

by Anonymousreply 31April 22, 2020 2:49 AM

Did the dude from Loggins & Messina transition into a frau?

by Anonymousreply 32April 22, 2020 3:40 AM

That first cut is too choppy. This was The Rachel, which Jennifer Anniston hated as it was too hard to maintain without a stylist.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 33April 22, 2020 12:23 PM

Anniston has had so many chemical processes done to her naturally curly brown hair over the last 3 decades. It's a wonder she has any left.

by Anonymousreply 34April 22, 2020 10:37 PM

Any haircut beats the current way too long and limp extension look.

by Anonymousreply 35April 22, 2020 10:39 PM

Interesting how old bald headed men have so many opinions about women's hair. Perhaps jealousy is at play

by Anonymousreply 36April 22, 2020 10:40 PM

Yes. My sister actually had one of these cuts in 2003.

by Anonymousreply 37April 22, 2020 11:20 PM

Well r36, hair trends, like fashion trends, usually originate from an old gay stylist who is balding and homely. The ones who want to try something new after doing thousands of heads and being bored with whatever is popular.

by Anonymousreply 38April 22, 2020 11:53 PM

better a style than the "no style" of today

by Anonymousreply 39April 23, 2020 12:00 AM

R36 is Kate Gosselin's Ultracuts stylist.
