HuffPost reports that the ACLU is taking Idaho to court over its recent laws forbidding trans women to compete with ciswomen.
ACLU to challenge Idaho’s transgender discrimination laws

At least they have their priorities in order.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 21, 2020 1:50 AM |
What a load of shit. Yeah, using the ACLU to destroy women's sports.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 21, 2020 1:53 AM |
Are we back to this bs? I hought one of the few things DL finally succumbed to this bs.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 21, 2020 1:53 AM |
Men's sports are more exciting anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 21, 2020 1:56 AM |
They could at least entertain us and have pre-op trannies competing in ladies' figure skating.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 21, 2020 1:58 AM |
Ah, for one brief shining moment we had other crises to worry about.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 21, 2020 2:37 AM |
This issue is a big fat loser. Any organization that was smart wouldn’t get anywhere near this. I bet if you polled even the most liberal people most would agree that trannies do not belong in women’s sports. Its maybe the one issue that most people can agree on.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 21, 2020 2:41 AM |
It's a pressing issue for wacky right wing "christians". Right up there. with drag queen library story time, and same sex animated parents on kids' cartoons.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 21, 2020 3:06 AM |
R8 has spoken. The fairness & integrity of girls' and women's sport doesn't rate as an issue worth discussing. Anyone who disagrees must be right wing, natch.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 21, 2020 3:52 AM |
Still don't understand why the trans don't want to have their own teams of MtFs competing against other MtFs. Are they afraid they might lose their advantage?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 21, 2020 3:59 AM |
R11 because trannies competing in real women’s sports is necessary to affirming trannies “feelings”
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 21, 2020 4:03 AM |
Because trannies are con artists who are using this as a way to win competitions. There’s an entire South Park episode about it. According to these freaks any man can put on a wig, say they’re a woman, and then compete against real women who have been training their entire lives. Biology is a real thing, no matter what the trans fanatics want to think.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 21, 2020 4:06 AM |
This week I shall roast an extra potato in solidarity with Idaho.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 21, 2020 4:12 AM |
Christ, let the women have their sports!
Transwomen and women are not the same physically, and should not be in the same competitive categories. Try to pretend differently all you like, that's the biological truth, and biology doesn't go away if you don't like it.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 21, 2020 5:30 AM |
[quote]Still don't understand why the trans don't want to have their own teams of MtFs competing against other MtFs. Are they afraid they might lose their advantage?
Well, yes. Nearly all of the trans athletes that are competing in female sports were unremarkable, middle-of-the-pack types when they competed against other biological males. They began winning only when they began pitting their male bodies against those of biological females.
After that, it's about forcing people to validate them as 'actual' women. Having trans teams would not feed that ceaseless hunger they have.
The sad thing to me about the whole trans thing is that women are the ones being forced to give in, give up and lose hard-won things in order to accommodate a tiny, mentally ill portion of the population. No one is asking them how they feel and whether they're OK with this. They risk becoming social pariahs and worse just for questioning. Men don't really give a fuck because transmen are no real threat to anyone - they are, in the end, women. The burden is being placed on one side only.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 21, 2020 6:30 AM |
Thanks ACLU for allowing me. (a poorly performing cyclist when I competed with other men) to keep taking medals away from women who have trained for years in this competition.

by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 21, 2020 10:18 AM |
This case has everything! Locker rooms! Bathrooms! Competition! And best of all, males defeating females!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 21, 2020 10:25 AM |
R14, Actually, the "biological truth" is that there are no such beings as "transwomen." Not even with surgery.
Dyeing my hair red doesn't make me a ginger; I'm still a brunette, but with dyed hair.

X and Y chromosomes are a right wing plot to oppress trans people of color
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 21, 2020 10:41 AM |
It is on this issue, sports, that the incessant screeching of "TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN AND TRANS MEN ARE MEN! PERIOD!" comes to a sudden halt. It is easier for people to suspend their concerns through sheer ignorance or naiveté (locker rooms, homeless shelters, rape shelters, etc), but watching a full-grown man obliterating his female competition (sometimes literally - see Fallon Fox) in front of thousands of people? Yeah, that's not gonna fly. No mainstream liberal supports this nonsense.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 5, 2020 3:58 AM |
With its adoption of this "trans" nonsense, the ACLU has officially become the American Crazed Lunatics Union.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 5, 2020 4:17 AM |
MTFs competing against women is as fair as short adults competing against children.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 5, 2020 4:57 AM |
Why bump this thread, R22?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 5, 2020 5:45 AM |
Because it's from like a week ago, r25?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 5, 2020 6:13 AM |
I'm baffled that there are very outspoken people on social media who I follow and admire who will argue to the death that a man with a ponytail is a woman who can compete in female sport, but they were the ones demonizing Rachel Dolezal for identifying as African American. The argument was that Dolezal was co-opting a repressed demographic, but are women not oppressed? Why do these same people not think a man who throws on some eye shadow and and grows his hair out is co-opting a repressed demographic (women)?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 5, 2020 6:17 AM |
You would think that the ACLU would back the women. They are the ones who are being treated unfairly.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 5, 2020 6:18 AM |
I wish the ACLU would use a little common sense more often.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 5, 2020 7:30 AM |
R27 why would you admire such idiotic hypocrits?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 5, 2020 7:42 AM |
It's not about trannies winning competitions; it's also about lucrative and essential sports scholarships that are available to top women athletes.
Personally, I am pleased that ACLU is taking this on, because if they lose, it will provide a death blow to this kind of challenge to women's rights. The basis for this loss will be that trannies are not women.
Great post, R15.

The trannies say that they take hormones which keeps them equal to women.

Works real well doesn't it
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 5, 2020 9:44 AM |
[quote]The trannies say that they take hormones which keeps them equal to women.
It's not possible for them to strip away the very foundations of their anatomy to make them 'equal' to bio women. No amount of HRT can erase the bone density, muscle mass, greater lung capacity, stamina and other physical differences between an adolescent or adult male and females. These trans competitors were only mediocre when they competed against other males, but are now superstars against even the best female athletes, BECAUSE of the differences between male and female bodies. And the refusal to acknowledge this basic scientific fact is why so much of the discussion surrounding transwomen competing against bio female athletes is so intellectually dishonest. It's like saying a lion can become a house cat. Look at Hannah Mouncey - even the best, most buffed bio female player is going to get crushed like a bug if she goes up against that tank, no matter how much lipstick he wears.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 5, 2020 10:45 AM |
I feel bad for the ciswomen here. I do think they will have a good chance of winning though. They should let the trans compete against other trans and the ciswomen and cismen compete amongst themselves.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 5, 2020 12:16 PM |
What about FTM who are taking testosterone and bulking up? Should they compete with the guys?

Those tranny athletes in the pics above look like monsters!
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 5, 2020 3:03 PM |
It's an absolute disgrace what the ACLU has devolved into. In my young, bleeding heart days I gave them small donations, but I'm horrified at what they support now. They should disband. This isn't about protecting civil liberties. Very disillusioning.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 5, 2020 3:52 PM |
Why?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 5, 2020 5:11 PM |
R35, not to pick a fight with you, but I want to say this:
“cisGender”is a term that trans force us to use. It implies that biological sex is deviant and needs a special terminology.
Transsexuals are deviant (using this actual definition in a statistical context) from the norm (using this actual definition in a statistical context).
I’m not the one who needs special words to describe me.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 5, 2020 5:17 PM |
[R38] Because they used to take on cases to uphold actual civil liberties, as opposed to premising cases on trendy causes, psychopathologies and bogus science. To the extent that I'm a "feminist" - or simply as a person who's sensitive to what's fair - I regard trans competing against biological girls as a a grotesque travesty and an outrage. Like many people, I once felt that I was naturally a part of the Left - but I don't feel that way anymore because so much of their energies have been hijacked for destructive purposes.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 5, 2020 5:43 PM |
[quote]“cisGender”is a term that trans force us to use. It implies that biological sex is deviant and needs a special terminology.
Oh, God.
I remember when straights used to say this. "I'm not straight! I'm normal!"
Behind most TERF arguments are the roots of the same arguments they also used against gay men.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 5, 2020 7:11 PM |
Has anyone at the ACLU noticed that forcing women to pretend men are women and concede women's space and opportunities to them violates women's... civil liberties?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 5, 2020 7:16 PM |
Yes, but it hinges on the (mistaken) belief that transwomen are in fact women; hence no one's rights or spaces are violated.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 5, 2020 7:27 PM |
R44 Guess they'll waste time and resources finding out transwomen are not, in literal fact, women. At best they're women-equivalents, good luck arguing that in court.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 5, 2020 7:40 PM |
[quote]What about FTM who are taking testosterone and bulking up? Should they compete with the guys?
It's not the same thing, because just like the MTF trans, FTM trans can't fundamentally overcome their biological foundations. They're still working with a body that developed with the limitations of a female - their lungs will never have the same capacity as a man's, their bones the same density, etc etc, even though through hormones they can bulk up more than they would have been able to naturally as a woman. They'll still fall short of the biological men they'd be competing against.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 5, 2020 8:01 PM |
It's about whether or not someone should be allowed to compete while taking testosterone, like FTMs do.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 5, 2020 8:09 PM |
I will never donate to the ACLU again due to their support of these personality disordered men, such as the chubby male cyclist who used to be "Rhys Mckinnon", then "Rachel Mckinnon" and now is calling himself "Veronica Ivy".
An out-of-shape guy who failed miserably at racing against men, but found he could beat any woman.
Oh and he tweeted how happy he was when Magdalena Berns (lesbian activist) died of brain cancer.
Disgusting creature.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 5, 2020 8:36 PM |
If r42 wants to talk about homophobia he can talk about lesbians being told to choke on dick and being bullied for their born lesbian loathing of dicks. Get these domineering he-clowns out of womens spaces.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 5, 2020 9:16 PM |
Well, most TERFs criticise gay mens’ born loathing on vagina.
So I’m glad they’re getting a taste of their own medicine.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 5, 2020 9:48 PM |
R50 Why are you ignoring the fact that "mainstream" transgender activism routinely attacks gay men and women for our exclusive same-sex attraction? Why do you think services and spaces that cater to gay men have kowtowed to this nonsense? Just yesterday I downloaded grindr after a year just to pass the time (still practicing social distancing, don't worry ) and I was bombarded with PSAs on how to be "accepting" and "kind" to transgender-identified females (aka "people with vaginas", aka women) who are using the app to look for dick. It's homophobic bullshit repackaged as progressive, simple as that.
This screencap comes from an official Cambridge University student org. Their message is clear: homosexuality is bigoted and unacceptable.

by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 6, 2020 12:51 AM |
r53, exactly. The commenters screeching 'TERF' upthread are just MTFs in digital gayface. Anyone thinking that this is just a women's issue is shortsighted or delusional. It's rage-inducing to be corrected and told I'm in a "same-gender relationship", "same-gender attracted", and later accused of being a genital fetishist/bigot for not being attracted to females pretending to be males. These people and their sycophants can do as many mental gymnastics as they want, but the current trans movement is nothing less than an attack on homosexuality.

ACLU needs to reassess their priorities. They are reaching to far with this. This is not a civil liberty.

A fair point. But it's not as if taking testosterone gave FTMs any competitive advantage over bio-males.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 6, 2020 7:06 AM |
R59 Depending on the sport, they usually still aren't competitive with men or are even in danger of being injured easily, so they still compete with girls. But all 'roided up.
That high school wrestler in Texas who competed against other girls was actually taking a form of testerone banned by the IOC that the Soviets were penalized for using in the 70s.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 6, 2020 8:51 AM |
According to R57, stuff like this LITERALLY never happens, even when it does. Here's a repulsive pamphlet created by TM4M, an organization that dedicates itself to "educating" (in other words pressuring) gay men into having sex with females. In their own words: "Trans men are sexy, we want to party with you, and you should consider us as sex partners". That's right, gay men, we need to start considering pussy for those sweet woke points.
"Digital gayface" as R54 put it is a perfect description for people who come screeching about the evil and satanic "TERFS".
by Anonymous | reply 61 | May 6, 2020 6:41 PM |
Stfu R57 no one cares about your "TERF" hysteria trying to derail the topic at hand. Start your own fucking topic if you want to be a cuntrag. Seriously, screaming "TERF!" When there's nothing about them mentioned, makes you look like a nutcase.

by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 6, 2020 8:02 PM |
Anyone who thinks a plastic dong (or 't-cock') is as satisfactory, arousing and stimulating as a warm, pulsing, flesh-and-blood penis, really doesn't get gay men at all. In my experience, most of us absolutely are genital fetishists, to use the TRA terminology - I know I am. This campaign to convince us that sex is obsolete is nonsensical.
