He had the makings of a huge star. He had that certain sex appeal, everyone loved him, men and women!
Why did Gale Harold's career go straight (heh) down the shitter?

Probably got typecast. It happens when you play a gay character on a TV show.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 20, 2020 2:11 PM |
horrifyingly bad actor
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 20, 2020 2:16 PM |
We need pics of whoever this person is.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 20, 2020 2:17 PM |
He has the same acting range as Judd Nelson.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 20, 2020 2:27 PM |
That is easy: No talent. No looks.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 20, 2020 2:33 PM |
Who?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 20, 2020 2:34 PM |
He was cast as a lead in a network action series after QAF, but it didn't succeed, unfortunately. When this happens it's hard for a second chance. Similar thing happened to Josh Holloway after LOST.

He was just starting into more mainstream success with a role on Desperate Housewives when he had to drop out after a motorcycle accident. His career never recovered.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 20, 2020 3:07 PM |
was he linked romantically with any of his QAF co-stars?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 20, 2020 3:09 PM |
WEBMASTER:
Please redtag R10 and ban him forever. Troll post trying to stir up some shit.

He was fired before the show even finished the season.

As mentioned previously: Typecast. He should've branched out more while QAF was on the air.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 20, 2020 3:13 PM |
r10 He was in a long term relationship with the actor who played his MUCH younger bf on QAF
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 20, 2020 3:31 PM |
Ha! You didn't watch it , did you?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 20, 2020 3:43 PM |
I love that Gale Harold threads are frau magnets 🤣
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 20, 2020 4:34 PM |
R14, and you know this how?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 20, 2020 4:38 PM |
He never had a career. He played an unsympathetic asshole on a niche show for a premium cable network that no one aside from a few gays and fraus watched. The average person had no idea who he was. Thus, when he did get a shot at the big time on DH, his underwhelming looks and acting ability garnered him no fan support.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 20, 2020 4:41 PM |
OP, you are delusional as hell if you think he had the makings of a "huge star"
He wasn't a good actor, and wasn't hot enough to make up for not being a good actor. Most guys didn't want to touch QAF so he grabbed a lead role there, but it is hardly surprising his career didn't go anywhere after the show.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 20, 2020 4:46 PM |
r17 Gale and Randy's relationship was an open secret for a long time. I even saw DL threads about it.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 20, 2020 4:51 PM |
His name was kind of unfortunate... not gonna see my major action movies staring a dude named Gale who played a homo once
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 20, 2020 4:55 PM |
Many* major action movies
2020 and I still can’t type and DL still won’t allow edits
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 20, 2020 4:56 PM |
His career was over the first episode of QAF... never mind the bad to mediocre acting, a role like Brian Kinney is not a launch pad to stardom.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 20, 2020 4:57 PM |
He didn't seem really as hot as his character was described and referred to by other characters on the show. So he seemed a bit miscast.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 20, 2020 4:59 PM |
Did he at least make money for QAF?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 20, 2020 5:01 PM |

Yeah, most of the posters on this thread who claim that DH was his original shot at the mainstream seem to have forgotten all about Vanished, which was his follow-up to QAF and was supposed to launch him as a mainstream lead. He was supposedly not easy to work with but I think the main reason he was fired was that the show was a ratings disappointment and the producers hoped to salvage it by giving it a new lead. It didn't work, obviously.

R22, it's true. You can't spell either — it's *starring* not...
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 20, 2020 8:35 PM |
What an inane thread
Aiden Gillian played the same role and the UK and had a stellar career.
Harold, as R9 correctly noted, had a major role on Desperate Housewives but got into a serious motorcycle accident and was written off the show. His career never recovered from that though he had roles on several CW shows after.
For a long time he was the topic of numerous Chalamet-Hammer like threads on DL manned by your usual stalker frau types.

Looks like a lesbian.

I didn't.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 29, 2020 1:46 AM |
How many times is OP going to start a thread about Gale Harold's career? There's been like 10 of them. Jesus...Enough.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 29, 2020 2:00 AM |
Same thing happened to Gale Gordon.
