Dylan is more classically handsome & has aged better. Dermot gets better indie roles and is much funnier/more sarcastic. He was excellent in About Schmidt, and the DL fave The Family Stone. He is also great on the Righteous Gemstones. I swore I saw him in SM back in the early aughts, bartending.

I always find Dylan McDermot so interesting to look at because he's one of those men where every feature in his face (except his eyes and eyebrows) is "wrong," and yet he's still handsome.

Dylan had a rough start in life. His mother was only 15 when he was born. She was killed by a gunshot when he was only 9, supposedly by some creep who was involved with organized crime she was living with. Said creep was found dead a few years later in the trunk of a car. Dylan spent time with his father who owned a bar in Greenwich Village. It was the father's 3rd wife Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues who set young Dylan on the path to righteousness and pretty much kept him from become a criminal himself. She legally adopted him when he was 15 and she was only 23. He took on the name "Dylan" after she had a miscarriage. Dylan was to be the name of the baby she miscarried.
