"The Lucy Show" Revisited
I know "The Lucy Show" has been discussed on DL many times before, but have we ever discussed the handsome men who've come on play to Lucy Carmichael's dates, chaperones, sparring partners, etc?
In the one episode where Lucy dates a classical music lover, I recognized the handsome young gentleman playing the music lover, but didn't know from where. Turns out he is Frank Aletter, who played Blanche Devereaux's bigamist fiancé in the premiere episode of "The Golden Girls." He also was once married to Miss Lee Meriwether.
Curiously, Vivian Bagley always ended up with average to ugly looking men.

Viv always got Lucy's sloppy seconds.

This is no excuse to have started a new thread on this OP.

It was dumb because Lucy had NO chemistry whatsoever with Chris and Jerry. And Vivian had EVEN LESS THAN ZERO, with Sherman.
You just didn't believe those two ladies were mothers to those children.

I disagree about Viv with Ralph Hart. Although he didn't even vaguely look like her, they had a very nice rapport. I agree Lucy's kids seemed to wander in from another sitcom set. Jerry's line readings were terrible.
Frank Aletter was once married to Lee Merriwether.
Another one of Lucy's way too young boyfriends was William Windom who later won a few Emmys for My World and Welcome To it.

And who could forget Dick Martin? Although not exactly her boyfriend, they were a grotesque couple.

Since it only ran for one season, he could only win one Emmy (which he did.)

R8, it was worse. They referred to her as a girl. Almost like the old joke on ILL. If you split everyone into boys and girls I'm a girl

With Keith Andes, who co-starred with Lucy on Broadway in "Wildcat" (1960-61).
