I am about to sound very crazy but what is it called when you leave your point of view and go into another person's and you become and know their emotions?
I really hate this. It's like a switch.

I can't think of the word, but tell us more, OP.

One who does this, empath.
Hence, empathetic.

It's called schizophrenia, Rose

Yes empath. Sounds like it happens at random OP. You will want to read up and learn to understand it. Spirit is just showing you an intuitive opening. Once you understand it you can determine when to access it.

Empath isn't the word I was trying to think of.
It's along the lines of clairavoyant, telepath, etc. You know, those 1960s - 1970s ESP terms.
Please don't turn this into a dull, new-agey empath thread.
"Spirit" - vomit.

Maj. Rakal of the Tal Shiar can help you explore this topic.

You mean like when you’re out shopping or somewhere else and walk past a stranger, look into their eyes, and then for a brief moment see the world through their perspective and know what they’re thinking? No...I’ve never heard of that.

If it really happened, it's something you ought to discuss with someone who knows something about Enlightenment. Tibetan or Zen Buddhist priest or lama. These kinds of things happen, but are pretty rare. Sometimes the consciousness dissociates from the body in ways that are unpredictable, unexpected, and even unwanted ( i.e. scary). It is a known thing.

R14
This used to happen to me a lot as a kid. I would look into someone’s eyes and feel their emotion and know what they were thinking. Was it real, or was I nuts? The jury is still out.

I believe the word you are looking for, R3, is cunt.

Always remember that you only *think* you feel their emotion.
You will never truly know what another person is feeling.

Exactly R24
When you’re a kid, you don’t know that though. I doubt I ever read anyone’s mind, but it felt like it. I have always been very intuitive though and my first instinct when I meet people is very keen.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 18, 2020 3:04 AM |
^^I'm R14, and yes, something like the intense "boredom" of corona virus isolation certainly could set off strange mental affects. No doubt about that. The mind gets challenged by isolation and all kinds of things can occur.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 18, 2020 3:05 AM |
Oh. I thought this was going somewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 18, 2020 3:22 AM |
Indeed.
Paging OP!
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 18, 2020 3:41 AM |
Sorry. I feel frozen when it happens. It's so hard to explain. I've done this when falling asleep before and others are in the room. It's like I become them.
I want so desperately to tell them but obviously I sound insane. It's like looking at someone and they're you.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 18, 2020 3:48 AM |
Does it always happen when you're falling asleep, OP?
If so, I would think it's one of those little tricks the brain likes to play on us when we're falling asleep.

A narcissist's soulmate?

R34 Maybe you're an alcoholic?

Did you fall asleep while Eyes of Laura Mars was on tv?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 18, 2020 4:07 AM |
I've never experienced what OP has described but as r35 points out, sometimes our brain acts odd when we fall asleep. I had a bizarre neurological thing happen for years as I was falling asleep. It would always happen after I had a long day out. I would be falling asleep and suddenly envision that I was still outside the house wherever I was that day. Then suddenly I would snap out of it and be startled and confused to realize that I was in my bed.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 18, 2020 4:23 AM |
Don't know if we're talking about the same thing, but once in a while if I get super stoned and I think of someone with wildly different valuess/opinions I can completely see where they're coming from and why they feel that way. It's weird but it doesn't last.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 18, 2020 4:30 AM |
I’ve done it a few times in my life. It’s a mysterious world and we really don’t understand what’s going on.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 18, 2020 4:39 AM |
That's called empathy, R40
Pity
