How Self-Isolated Are You All?
I have not really had any interaction with anyone other than the five other people in the house with me in about a month.
I had a brief conversation with a neighbor as I was walking the dog--she was in her front yard working on her flowers as we walked past and we sort of shouted pleasantries from 100 feet away. I've also waved and nodded to various joggers, cyclists and other dog walkers as we passed each other on opposite sides of the road.
But that's it--no store visits, no "social distancing visits" or dinners-- all interaction has been virtual.
Are you all out and about--it sounds like it.
Are people freaked out all the time? Are they more friendly, more wary or it depends?

Why do you live with five other people? Are you a housewife with four kids?

Are those five people in your house, or in your head?

I work for the government so I still have to go to work a couple days a week with a mask on.

Fairly isolated excepted for a few people . I try to avoid going out. I last went to the grocery 3 weeks ago but I've been ordering dry goods online and I have a decent treadmill for exercise . I live in a suburb of a major metropolitan area and it is Asshole and Bitch Central in the best of circumstances. I'm not keen to see how people are acting under this mess.

Are you out in the Hamptons, YMF?
I guess as long as one is speaking with the "right" people, it's not so matter a question of "how many."

I am with my parents, boyfriend, my brother and his fiancee, so six people total.
We keep the servants locked in the cellar and they clean while we're asleep so I don't see them.

I am completely isolated. I live alone in my apartment here in NYC and do not interact with anyone unless I happen to see one of my neighbors downstairs in the lobby when I leave going to the grocery store. Oh, and talking to delivery people outside my door when they're leaving me packages.

Moved in with parents to help them out. The only place I go is the small, local, sparsely visited grocery store. I wear a mask and gloves and clean everything when I get it home. Virtual meetings for work. Text friends. See people when walking for exercise, but I stay away. Not much has changed because I’m not very social. But I used to always be on the go shopping. Always went to lots of different stores for certain things and perusing the sale racks at department stores. Miss that. But I think people are too blasé about it. Everyone should wear a mask, distance, avoid crowds, take extra precautions cleaning, etc. It’s not something to take lightly.

But you are going to the grocery store where you're seeing all sorts of people R8 and interacting with the cashier.
Are there lots of people out on the street when you are out?

I've begun asking the escorts to wear masks and disposable gloves.

Not at all. I go out shopping. And my job is essential, so I go to work every day.
I think I had it in late-Feb., so I'm feeling 'immune'. But am I? No tests, no one knows anything, no vaccine. No data about different strains, or re-infection.
But Trump wants the country back to work.

Other than the five guys I'm currently staying with and being fucked by in the vacation house, and our servants, I see no one.

With a parent, for whom I am caregiver. Last time out to buy groceries was March 30th. No outside trips since then, although we have done some yard work.
Last time in NYC was March 10th.

I am an essential worker - the university I work at hasn't closed completely because we are housing some foreign students who can't get back home. I work Monday through Friday one week, then I'm off the next, then repeat. I am self-isolated once I get home (I live alone) until I go back to work or go totthe store.

I hate people so I'm loving this. No more relatives or co-workers asking why I don't want to socialize with them. Fuck everyone. Long live Covid!

It's just me and my girls, so I never lack for company!
Of course, this was true before the coronavirus.

I've been on lockdown for five weeks now. I have gone out three times. Two for work, to pick up equipment for working from home, and once to the doctor. On the way home each time I stopped at a store to pick up groceries (wearing mask and gloves). Other than online interactions for work, I've only seen and spoken to two door-to-door salesman who inexplicably came by. Neither were cute enough to tempt me to invite them in.

I've picked up a few hitchhikers, like I often do late on week nights, but wasn't with them for more than about 30 minutes each.
I have the timing down pretty good and it's not like I do it for the kinks. And I've always been careful to wear gloves and a mask.
Other than that, no contact. Don't need it. My hobby keeps me engaged.

My apologies, R10. I guess when I say that I'm "completely isolated," I mean I do not have any contact with anyone meaningful in my life -- i.e., no family, friends, coworkers, etc. I'm totally cut off from anyone who actually knows my name and have been for the past 5 weeks. (Even my neighbors, who I may run into in the lobby, don't know me and I don't know them; we're strictly on the "nod hello as you pass by" program and that's it.)
I only go to the grocery store at 7 in the morning when it first opens. There's usually no one out on the street at that time, which is the main reason why I go so early (makes social distancing easier).

I haven't left the house for about 3 weeks, and then just to drive through the drug store for prescriptions twice. It's just me and my boyfriend and two cats here. I haven't interacted with any neighbors or delivery people.
We have to go over to a relatives house this weekend to help her out. It seems like she's been going to the grocery store and Lowes daily like nothing's changed for her.
She'll probably infect and kill both of us.

A trip to the grocery store at 6:00 a.m. every two weeks is the only actual external contact I've had for over a month. I also do a daily walk on my very low-traffic cul-de-sac, where, so far, I haven't seen anyone else walking at the same time. It's just me, so I'm about as isolated as it's possible to be.

There are a lot of people who were basically living isolated lives before all this (I suspect a lot of Dataloungers). In fact, they are probably quite happy now because now EVERYONE is in the same boat and they don't feel like social misfits now.

I'm happily alone for most of the time. I staying with an elderly friend who spends all day watching TV or trimming ivy, while I read or do puzzles in my room. We see each other in passing and sometimes chat, but I mostly avoid him because he sneaks out to the store a lot and still doesn't understand when to wash his hands. We're both loners, so it mostly works out well for us. I chat with friends online and through WhatsApp.
I go for a long walk every other day (then recover the next day- I have several health issues), sometime swinging by 7*11 to buy water. I only go to a bigger store once a week at most, if even then.
