Yikes. And here those of us in the Chicago area thought the Symphony of Joliet nursing home, with its 23 dead, was an abomination . . .

There is no paywall on coronavirus coverage in NYT. Did you get a paywall? Strange. Here's another link then.

Did they not tell families they were dead? Maybe they were trying to keep collecting fees?

Seems like total collapse. Run by some sort of Shady Pines slum lord.

I live near the Kirkland WA nursing home. The first of many horrific COVID19 stories. The daughter of one of the first to die was not notified, media is reporting that there was no doctor available for as long as a month, ad nauseum. Lawsuits have been filed.
I hope that the horrible coronavirus situation shines a light on the entire corrupt nursing home facility situation nationally. Not all are bad. In fact I was in a wonderful skilled nursing home in Seattle - Kline Galland - after a hip replacement. It was state of the art. They are not all equal by any means. Your placement as a post surgical rehab patient depends on who has a bed available at the time you are discharged, so choosing prudently under these circumstances is not always an option. Families who are planning to place their loved ones in skilled nursing or similar facilities are urged to research thoroughly starting with a simple google search then visiting and doing deeper research.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
