Americans spending their stimulus checks on dildos, tigers, guns and stripper poles

What are you buying?

Bullshit story from Rupert Murdock’s NY Post trying to make the point that these stupid poor people don’t deserve the pittance of $1,200. I get it...it’s funny, but to try to imply that’s what people in dire need are spending their money on is at best disingenuous and at worst evil.

by Anonymousreply 1April 16, 2020 2:11 AM

Why does it matter what they are spending money on? I mean, if you have a job and you get $1200, why not buy a dildo? Somewhere out there is a store that sells them, and people work there, and because people are shopping at that store, it can stay open. The people who work there can pay their rents and get groceries and so on. That’s how stimulus works.

If they’re not working, then it’s probably a dumb personal choice to buy a gun or a dildo but the effect on the economy is the same as the first example.

Well, since dildoes are listed in Amazon's "women's health" category, I guess they are considered "essential" items.

by Anonymousreply 3April 16, 2020 2:13 AM

If the New York Post declares it so, then it must be so.

Dildos, tigers, guns and stripper poles. The usual.

Oh, and vitamins for my cat.

[quote]It’s hard to argue a canopied bed is ever essential,

Not on DL

Damn, so I can use my HSA for a dildo purchase?

"spending their stimulus checks on dildos, tigers, guns and stripper poles"

Something wrong with that?

If you look hard enough, you can probably spot all of those things in this photo.

I loved the woman who bought the baby Yoda and the $200 vibrator responding to people she's a nurse working during an epidemic so she deserved to pay her bills and buy her so pleasure. Good for her.

These are legitimate business expenses incurred by courageous Americans doing their part to fight the deadly Trump Virus.

Now, tigers that can shoot, pole dance, AND shoot dildos out of their assholes are big right now. Tod has one.

I bought a dinosaur head to wear during the pandemic, because I can’t find a mask.

by Anonymousreply 12April 16, 2020 2:34 AM

Much better for unemployed women to use a dildo than get knocked up.
