R5 - I think you've misread. And the key is the reaction. There is no one having a shocked or I-can't-believe-you-just-did-that,-bro reaction in any of these videos. I'm an older millennial and when I was younger I remember a lot of straight bro "gay chicken" videos in which straight dudes would challenge each other to "do something gay" like kiss each other. These videos, on the other hand, just seem to feature gen Z's showing that they're comfortable demonstrating affection to each other without questioning their orientation. Yes, it's a little "look at how progressive I am," but we were all like that when we were younger. They're being a bit precious about it, but I think it's rather sweet and it feels like the opposite of internalized homophobia (for once!)

I think the curiously sexless & twee Zoomers are more at ease with and accepting of LGBT, but as others have said they infantilise the concept and make performing it into a condescending wokeness contest.
