How did he come back with two false negatives? Did he catch it while his immune system was fighting something else? That’s why the third was positive?

Guy I know was sick with pneumonia and had Covid symptoms but he tested negative for it. He recovered, fortunately.

He has the HIV but of course they leave that out.

Something about this story seems off. There's a shortage of tests and they did 3 tests on him?

Probably his X-ray showed Covid type pneumonia. They want to be sure to count every covid case & every covid death to get an accurate case/death count. They knew he had it. They knew the tests were wrong.

R5 After 2 negative tests if the medical team thinks his symptoms were consistent with COVID-19, then it's actually not the recommended course to do a 3rd test. Just treat as if he has it. At least that's how clinicians are taught under current circumstances where test kits are scarce.

I'm just saying something about this is off, in that he got a 3rd test. It's hard enough to get a retest after testing negative the first time, it's helluva lot harder to then get a 3rd test unless the patient's family is very persistent in getting a 3rd test. Maybe the medical team buckled under that persistence because he's an actor and the wife has been on SM with updates? It's likely if you're Dan the bus driver and you end up in the ICU with COVID-19 symptoms, you're not getting tested a 3rd time if you're even lucky to get tested a 2nd time. You'd just be treated as positive for the virus.

I saw him in "Bullets Over Broadway" (the Broadway musical), he was fantastic and can tap. He was by far the best thing in it. This is so sad, it sounds like they need a miracle.
