This quarantine has got me wanting to revisit Araki’s nihilistic wasted youth in the 90s oeuvre. It seems next to impossible to view these film ms unless you have access to. VHS player. Can any of you Super Sleuth Dataloungers help a sis to n need?!
Anyone know where I can stream Gregg Araki’s THE DOOM GENERATION (1995) & NOWHERE (1997) in 2020?

Definitely following this thread. Thanks for starting it, OP. Unusual films that are hard to find would be a fun and useful thread.

Gosh Johnathon Schaech was dreamy in this. I remember wanking to his naked ass when I was a kid.

Watching me being exploited against my will in these early movies on my resume is LITERAL V.I.O.L.E.N.C.E!

Shut up Rose- lots of weirdos enjoy spending time in the dark with your nudity-friendly oeuvre.

Why are these classics so hard to find?

WHET to Jimmy Duval? He was Araki's IT boi toy.. Had a somewhat Keanuesque vibe. Was he replaced by JGL? Did his career die with the indies?

Mysterious Skin deserves another viewing.

I thought those movies sucked when I was a teen but maybe I should revisit them

They aren't great movies r12, but there is something about Arakis' work I find appealing. It isn't for everyone.

Sure, OP.
Araki’s movies usually end with an apocalypse, just like our times.

That's all Duval does now; indies. Micro-budget nothings that no one hears of or sees. But Araki still hooks him up. He, as well as Johnathan Schaech, appeared in Araki's Starz series "Now Apocalypse".

Has he gone back to penis?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 12, 2020 8:27 PM |
It's because it was an adaptation of a book rather than being his original script r14. But yes, it's a excellent movie.

A limited filmmaker.

THE LIVING END (92) was Gregg's CITIZEN KANE. Artsy, bossy bottom otter and dumb blond beefcake go on an HIV-poz inspired revenge crime rampage!

I liked White Bird In A Blizzard.

Don't forget his "romantic comedy" Splendor with Kristen Bell doppelganger Kathleen Robertson. There's a hot scene of Jonathan Scheck and Matt Kesslar making out. WHET to Matt Kesslar.
Also Stars Betty's boss from ugly Betty and that Scottish chick from trainspotting and no country for old men

All DLers of a Certain Vintage know that beautiful Matt is a Physician's Assistant now. Hope he's safe!
