NYPOST thinks Cuomo Brothers should stop "yukking it up like the Smothers Brothers" on Chris's Show

What say you DLers?

by Anonymousreply 95April 12, 2020 10:53 PM

They think they cute.

by Anonymousreply 1April 10, 2020 1:29 AM

It's by National Review writer R. Kyle Smith. He leans conservative but when he does write about a particular topic, he sometimes makes very good sense.

I've not been a fan of the Cuomo brother match-ups, so I agree with him on this one.

by Anonymousreply 2April 10, 2020 1:30 AM

Chris is hot...but I don’t find his dramatic description of his illness credible. If he were that sick he couldn’t be doing a show and appearing on other peoples’ show. I think he’s exaggerating to raise awareness of the seriousness of the virus, which isn’t a bad thing. He’s also helping his brother keep people inside.

by Anonymousreply 3April 10, 2020 1:34 AM

Gov Cuomo looks like he is heading to a grave on Hart's Island. He needs daily sun exposure and some filler for those deep folds.

by Anonymousreply 4April 10, 2020 1:36 AM

They crave attention.

by Anonymousreply 5April 10, 2020 1:42 AM

Chris isn't doing his show tonight. There's Anderson with the ubiquitous Sanjay Gupta.

by Anonymousreply 6April 10, 2020 1:43 AM

There are worse people. Let them have their 15 minutes.

by Anonymousreply 7April 10, 2020 1:44 AM

Which one did Mom like best?

by Anonymousreply 8April 10, 2020 1:44 AM

I like this:

[quote]Cuomo reports that our state now has more people infected with coronavirus than any single entire country (outside of the U.S.). “I love you very much” and “thank you” aren’t the top two things I would say to a guy who has presided over a catastrophe that has killed more than 7,000 New Yorkers.

by Anonymousreply 9April 10, 2020 1:48 AM

<3 Fredo

by Anonymousreply 10April 10, 2020 1:48 AM

I agree with the NYPost.

by Anonymousreply 11April 10, 2020 1:50 AM

It's not appropriate for this time. Otherwise the governor is doing a decent job. Chris is meat.

by Anonymousreply 12April 10, 2020 1:51 AM

Conservative assholes have no problem with Trump yukking it up

by Anonymousreply 13April 10, 2020 1:51 AM

kyle smith? prick.

by Anonymousreply 14April 10, 2020 1:53 AM

Speakerines and governors are fame whores. What does anyone expect? The attention seeking on this has been off the chart, all over the world. Mr. and Ms Joe Schmoes like myself aren't much in consideration. Politicians of every party are hysterical. Broadcasters as well. Governors and Mayors fucked up but some of them have stepped up as best they could when it became necessary. They aren't going to apologize. I heard a NYC Hospital director say he fucked up, too. Everyone fucked up at first.

by Anonymousreply 15April 10, 2020 1:54 AM

R13 Could you imagine if the city with the most virus cases and deaths were governed by a Republican? We'd all be laying on the criticism. Yet Cuomo is supposed to be some sort of hero. People are nuts.

by Anonymousreply 16April 10, 2020 1:59 AM

R7 - “ There are worse people. Let them have their 15 minutes.”

Yawn 🥱

by Anonymousreply 17April 10, 2020 2:02 AM

(R13) You said it! They have NO PROBLEM with trump droning on day after day about things he knows nothing or cares nothing about. FUCK 'EM!

by Anonymousreply 18April 10, 2020 2:03 AM

It’s typical, inappropriate low-rent behavior by a certain subset of which I also belong but am still horribly offended by the willingness of this unnamed group to perpetuate a cheap stereotype.

by Anonymousreply 19April 10, 2020 2:04 AM

The Post is a right-wing rag, of course they see Andrew as a political threat.

by Anonymousreply 20April 10, 2020 2:06 AM

[quote]Could you imagine if the city with the most virus cases and deaths were governed by a Republican? We'd all be laying on the criticism. Yet Cuomo is supposed to be some sort of hero. People are nuts.

Perhaps if the federal government had enacted a European travel ban preventing infected Europeans from coming into the city and thereby infecting the population, the metro area wouldn't be in the shape it's in.

by Anonymousreply 21April 10, 2020 2:09 AM

Over 4,500 deaths in NYC so far.

In a city of only 8,6 million people.

Per population, NYC has more deaths than all of Italy.

But keep joking it up Andrew. You're doing a wonderful job.

by Anonymousreply 22April 10, 2020 2:10 AM

Clearly the trolls have been unleashed because Trump’s afraid the Cuomo bros will beat him in the ratings.

by Anonymousreply 23April 10, 2020 2:13 AM

Why do they both look like gaunt, old meth queens?

by Anonymousreply 24April 10, 2020 2:14 AM

[quote]Perhaps if the federal government had enacted a European travel ban preventing infected Europeans from coming into the city and thereby infecting the population, the metro area wouldn't be in the shape it's in.

Federal government travel ban? Are you crazy? You really think that would have been acceptable to Cuomo?

Why was the NYTimes running op-ed pieces like this?

by Anonymousreply 25April 10, 2020 2:16 AM

How could one brother be so hot and the other so grotesque?

by Anonymousreply 26April 10, 2020 2:18 AM

At least they aren't lying snake-oil salesmen looking to profit from tragedy.

by Anonymousreply 27April 10, 2020 2:19 AM

chris is hot but they are both over the top and a little too jersey imo

by Anonymousreply 28April 10, 2020 2:19 AM

So adjacent.

by Anonymousreply 29April 10, 2020 2:20 AM

The New York Post is a rightwing piece of shit. I would say it's only fit to use as toilet paper, but I can hardly believe anybody buys it in paper edition.

by Anonymousreply 30April 10, 2020 2:22 AM

Well tRump did say he is familiar with "models" just not the kind Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx were referring to. Where does that register on the Yukk-O-Meter?

by Anonymousreply 31April 10, 2020 2:22 AM

They should have made a joke about screwing models. That's always a laugh

by Anonymousreply 32April 10, 2020 2:23 AM

His show is not that serious that joking with his brother is improper, I don't have a problem with it

by Anonymousreply 33April 10, 2020 2:26 AM

[quote]Clearly the trolls have been unleashed because Trump’s afraid the Cuomo bros will beat him in the ratings.

Exactly. The writer of this article can go fuck himself. Interesting how he's so much more offended by what the Cuomo brothers are doing than he is by what Trump is doing that he just had to write about it while saying nothing about the Orange Menace. That tells you all you need to know about his true motives.

by Anonymousreply 34April 10, 2020 2:32 AM

R34 The article wasn't about Trump. The article was about the Cuomo Brothers.

by Anonymousreply 35April 10, 2020 2:34 AM

I'm an eldergay and even *I* found the Smothers Brothers reference awfully dated.

by Anonymousreply 36April 10, 2020 2:42 AM

For some reason the Cuomo brothers trigger many Dataloungers

Perhaps it's because they're very New York

Perhaps they remind some posters of guys who picked on them in high school

Or a combination thereof.

by Anonymousreply 37April 10, 2020 2:45 AM

The New York Post can stuck a rusty pole, right wing trash.

More Cuomo, less Anusmouth.

by Anonymousreply 38April 10, 2020 2:46 AM

For one thing, Chris can fuck like no one you can imagine. Big dick. Body from God.

Andrew, for all his faults and he did not do a great job in the beginning, stepped up after that and did his job superbly. I WISH our "prez" would do the same after he fucked up initially. But noooooo. He just makes it worse. Gov. Cuomo did fuck up in the beginning but has since been impeccable. That is how your right a wrong.

Chris can fuck me with the virus. I bet he can pound sand into glass.

by Anonymousreply 39April 10, 2020 2:50 AM

It's the NY Post for f*ck sake.

by Anonymousreply 40April 10, 2020 2:52 AM

Genuinely surprised at the negative backlash on this thread. I love them.

by Anonymousreply 41April 10, 2020 2:54 AM

I agree. It was cute once or twice. We’re in a pandemic, it’s not a vaudeville show.

by Anonymousreply 42April 10, 2020 2:54 AM

Oh seriously fuck that right wing shitrag. Really we’re giving the Post credence now?

They’re delivering us what we need to know while providing us some much needed comic relief. Good for them.

by Anonymousreply 43April 10, 2020 3:00 AM

Chris was a change-of-life baby. Parents were almost 40 when he was born.

by Anonymousreply 44April 10, 2020 3:26 AM

NY Post is owned by Murdock, you know the owner of The Fox News Channel. Would you expect anything less?

by Anonymousreply 45April 10, 2020 3:39 AM

I’m not too bothered by their banter, but Chris always has that vibe of constantly monitoring how he’s coming off, so his “impromptu” shout outs to his bro always seem calculated and his execution klutzy.

by Anonymousreply 46April 10, 2020 3:47 AM

Queens is the center of it, and coincidently there's lots of Asians. Not a racist, it's a simple fact. Just saying.

by Anonymousreply 47April 10, 2020 3:57 AM

Yes. It’s annoying and unprofessional.

by Anonymousreply 48April 10, 2020 4:11 AM

Oh c'mom, lighten up. I don't watch CNN regularly but I have caught their interaction somewhere else in the media. I think they are funny.

by Anonymousreply 49April 10, 2020 5:13 AM

Chris is hot, Andrew looks like a reptile. Personally, I think they're funny together, I just think that Chris should avoid too many serious issues when interviewing his brother. A little Covid-19 talk like updates is fine, but say if Andrew had to be seriously questioned about his actions as governor, then someone else should do it. Other than that, a little fun is a good thing now and again, even in these dire circumstances.

by Anonymousreply 50April 10, 2020 5:29 AM

Chris Cuomosexual is a bit nauseating.

by Anonymousreply 51April 10, 2020 6:25 AM

I laughed yesterday when Chris showed an old family photo and his brother had on a real 70's outfit

by Anonymousreply 52April 10, 2020 6:32 AM

[quote] For some reason the Cuomo brothers trigger many Dataloungers Perhaps it's because they're very New York Perhaps they remind some posters of guys who picked on them in high school Or a combination thereof.

Your context suggests that by calling them "very New York," you mean they come across as bullies.

Why not just say that plainly?

by Anonymousreply 53April 10, 2020 7:39 AM

Does Andrew have facial wasting? iIdon't understand those incredibly deep nasiolabial folds--why does he have them but Chris does not?

by Anonymousreply 54April 10, 2020 7:49 AM

The NY Post is the same paper that reported all of the tawdry behaviour of Cheetolini throughout the 1980's when Trump was a Democrat or Independent. The breathless updates about Marla Maples being hidden away in the St Moritz, her comments about his sexual prowess (lol), etc. Now they criticize the Cuomo brothers. I'm shocked I say! That right wing Murdoch piece of shit paper did THAT?!

by Anonymousreply 55April 10, 2020 9:29 AM

This must be that conservative columnist who writes an anti-democrat post every month so the Post looks bipartisan. YAWN

It's not like they're holding press briefings every day where they give out WRONG or unsubstantiated medical information in between bragging about their "Accomplishments."

by Anonymousreply 56April 10, 2020 9:37 AM

[quote] Your context suggests that by calling them "very New York," you mean they come across as bullies. .... Minnesota

No, but you have proven my point

Many Flyoverstani DLers just don't like New Yorkers and the Cuomos are very easily identifiable as New Yorkers

The fact that you automatically went to "come across like bullies" is exactly why I am thinking many DLers don't like them.

I don't see that at all, but I guess some of you do.

by Anonymousreply 57April 10, 2020 10:37 AM

"they" overlook the fact that dump is a native new yorker and a life long democrat who donated and supported hillary clinton as a senator of newyork.

by Anonymousreply 58April 10, 2020 11:44 AM

[quote] Queens is the center of it, and coincidently there's lots of Asians. Not a racist, it's a simple fact. Just saying.

If you have to clarify that you’re not a racist....

by Anonymousreply 59April 10, 2020 12:03 PM

And how many articles did they write about FOX News and Trump calling all of this a Dem hoax? Oh, wait, they wouldn't ever do that, would they?

Special needs types read the NYP. It's such a dirty, disgusting vessel for evil that even if I were desperate for TP, I wouldn't use it.

by Anonymousreply 60April 10, 2020 12:11 PM

Please do, r60.

by Anonymousreply 61April 10, 2020 12:12 PM

[quote]Could you imagine if the city with the most virus cases and deaths were governed by a Republican?'

Asshole, I don't have to "imagine" anything. It's enough we have Republicans in the WH and the Senate destroying EVERYTHING. What happened with Wisconsin is just a taste of what we have coming because people like you are too fucking stupid to get it. Republicans turn everything to shit.

Cuomo didn't have the info that the REPUBLICAN president had back in December and did NOTHING.

by Anonymousreply 62April 10, 2020 12:19 PM

[quote]Queens is the center of it, and coincidently there's lots of Asians. Not a racist, it's a simple fact. Just saying.

"New research indicates that the coronavirus began to circulate in the New York area by mid-February, weeks before the first confirmed case, and that travelers brought in the virus mainly from Europe, not Asia."

Andrew looks like he'd throw a mean fuck. Chris looks like he'd just lay there and let you do all the work.

by Anonymousreply 64April 10, 2020 2:12 PM

I usually am a loyal Maddow fan at 9pm. But I think her coverage of the pandemic is boring and shrill. She does better with political/legal shows.

So I've been watching Chris's 'diary' with Sanjay and really learning a lot.

by Anonymousreply 65April 10, 2020 2:46 PM

The Smothers Brothers? What an up-to-date reference.

Who wrote the article, Yakov Smirnov?

by Anonymousreply 66April 10, 2020 3:18 PM

Rachel Maddow isn't good with Corona crisis. Anderson Cooper has been pretty good, except for his "in memorium" segments, which are mawkish. He manages to be graceful during those eurologies by "survivors" but I think 1x a week is plenty, and TMI.

by Anonymousreply 67April 10, 2020 3:33 PM

[quote]He manages to be graceful during those eurologies by "survivors"

Are you Archie Bunker?

by Anonymousreply 68April 10, 2020 3:39 PM

?? do you think Anderson is tacky?

ahhhh. eulogies. I can't see so well but YA GOT ME!

by Anonymousreply 71April 10, 2020 3:48 PM

R50, Andrew fits into DL's "Ugly Sexy" category.

by Anonymousreply 72April 10, 2020 3:55 PM

Andrew is semi-homemade.

by Anonymousreply 73April 10, 2020 3:56 PM

During this crisis, we are looking for leadership in our leaders which typically includes masculinity. Dump is not particularly masculine.

by Anonymousreply 74April 10, 2020 3:59 PM

Queens is the center of it, and coincidently there's lots of Asians. Not a racist, it's a simple fact. Just saying.

FROM USA TODAY:

The data for New York City showed 34% of COVID-19 deaths were Hispanic people, who represent 29% of the city population. Black people represented 28% of COVID-19 deaths and 22% of the city population, the data show.

Asian people represented 7% of COVID-19 deaths and 14% of the city population, the data show.

From US News: “We know that in Queens, many families, because of poverty, live together in very close quarters. So that while we are practicing as a city social distancing, you may have multiple families living together in a very small apartment. And so it’s easy to understand why there’s a lot of transmission of COVID occurring,” he said.

Yet some neighborhoods with significant numbers of poorer immigrants, like the bustling Chinese community in Flushing, Queens, have had as few positive tests per capita as any wealthy, whiter part of the city.

by Anonymousreply 75April 10, 2020 4:23 PM

I actually know the writer of this piece--Kyle Smith.

He's an extreme whiner about everything.

He always wanted to be a major book writer but wrote one book (that I'm aware of) that went nowhere.

Now, he stuck writing for the NY Post.

But Asians are not the center of it, and are actually underrepresented in the percentage of people who die, as your data shows:

[quote]The data for New York City showed 34% of COVID-19 deaths were Hispanic people, who represent 29% of the city population. Black people represented 28% of COVID-19 deaths and 22% of the city population, the data show. Asian people represented 7% of COVID-19 deaths and 14% of the city population, the data show.

I live in a predominantly Chinese neighborhood in Brooklyn, next to a predominantly Hasidic neighborhood. I think I may have had it back in January because I never get sick in January and had all of the symptoms and couldn't get rid of it for like three weeks. I still think my days are numbered due to it. Already know of several people who have it. Three died including an eye doctor.

by Anonymousreply 79April 10, 2020 7:57 PM

Jesus, r79!

by Anonymousreply 80April 10, 2020 8:11 PM

Lots of people love the "yukking it up" of the Cuomo Bros so much that they make a video of it and name it "Keeping Up With The Cuomos". To each their own. LOL.

R76, Kyle is one of the more intriguing people on Twitter, he went to Yale and was in Anderson's class but seems to have no interest in Anderson at all.

He writes a lot of National Review cover stories, so there's that at least. He wrote a review of Ricky Gervais which Ricky himself said was the best review he ever read.

by Anonymousreply 82April 12, 2020 11:21 AM

Um, Gervais loved it because it was a glowing review

by Anonymousreply 83April 12, 2020 12:11 PM

R82, there are over a thousand people in each Yale class. Why would he care specifically about Anderson Cooper?

by Anonymousreply 84April 12, 2020 12:12 PM

Is it just me or does anyone think Chris has a hot ass and is a freak in bed? I'd love that.

by Anonymousreply 85April 12, 2020 12:35 PM

Hmm- Cuomo Brothers or The orange butt nugget? I’ll go with the Bros.

by Anonymousreply 86April 12, 2020 12:40 PM

Some of us remember that Andrew was behind the rolling loudspeakers in the outer boroughs during the Koch/Cuomo mayoral race that urged residents to "Vote for Cuomo, not the Homo.

by Anonymousreply 87April 12, 2020 12:42 PM

I saw the clip. I thought it was cute.

by Anonymousreply 88April 12, 2020 12:54 PM

It’s enough already.

by Anonymousreply 89April 12, 2020 1:27 PM

I like Andrew and think he would be a good (corrupt) president, but from what I have gathered about him, he is also probably pretty corrupt. Seems like most politicians in NY (or DC) are. He also did not come off very likeable in that debate with the SATC lesbian and she heavily implied he was a corrupt piece of shit and part of the problem - not the solution.

Also, if I remember correctly, he was in the Slumlord Millionaire documentary on Netflix about the Kushners and they donated lots of money to his re-election campaigns and it was implied Cuomo and his adminatration turned a blind eye to their many violations of laws and treatment of their tenants and did nothing to stop their lawless tactics.

The Kushners (just like the Trumps) are trash and everyone who supports this lawless family doesn't really deserve sympathy or support.

by Anonymousreply 90April 12, 2020 1:36 PM

Sure, r87. Are you Donald Segretti?

by Anonymousreply 91April 12, 2020 1:36 PM

I liked the smothers brothers

by Anonymousreply 92April 12, 2020 1:37 PM

R82 = Kyle

by Anonymousreply 93April 12, 2020 6:18 PM

R25 they wrote that - in February! Thats insane! No wonder there is an international pandemic. The borders should have been shut, not just to China and Europe, but to the whole world by the time this utterly reckless article was written. It would have saved thousands of lives, reduced economic damage, and it would even have been consistent with Trumps previous rhetoric on borders. Had this been done, the US wouldnt have had much of a curve to flatten

by Anonymousreply 94April 12, 2020 10:35 PM

Anything to give the Drumpets what they crave: it's always them, never us Rethugs. The daily shit-shows of lies is so obvious, they must obfuscate.
