Proof positive that there are two Americas...one inhabited by reasonably well educated, rational people, and the other inhabited by poorly educated or simply uneducated, irrational people.

That other America suffers near or below the poverty level, has little skills, may have multiple health problems, but also show little or no incentive to help themselves. No matter how many social programs there are, a man like this needs...pardon the expression...to get off his duff and help himself.

19 grandchildren at age 49? My god! My grandmother had nineteen grandchildren between the ages of 52 and 75!

What is also sad about us is that this man's life was presented as entertainment for us. Please spare me any banality that the network or producers who came up with this show wanted to help him. No...a grotesquely obese man's life was presented to a TV audience as entertainment. We're no better than the Romans!

Let's be fair. He was responsible for his six children. The nineteen grandchildren weren't his fault -other than the obvious bad parenting.

I can't watch these fatty shows. I don't understand how they can take a crap - no toilet would hold them. I remember a friend who was in nursing school saying that toilet paper was useless because they couldn't reach around to use it. The health care people had to swap them down with mops to wipe their asses. These fatty shows just depress me; I don't want to think those people had a choice. It has to be a medical condition.

Yeah, like after tipping the scale at 400lbs wouldn't you think to yourself "Gee, maybe I should cut back a little on the snacks and go for short walks every now and then." Instead he went on to add another 50%.
