Who do you think assassinated JFK?

What's the most plausible theory? Did Jackie ever make her thoughts public? Who did she think did it and why?

by Anonymousreply 151April 9, 2020 6:22 PM

Jackie never spoke about it.

by Anonymousreply 1April 5, 2020 4:48 PM

Definitely not Oswald. I'm guessing a couple of mercenaries hired by the government. They did the job, got paid, and got protection for the rest of their lives.

by Anonymousreply 2April 5, 2020 4:48 PM

This is just a wild guess: Lee Harvey Oswald.

by Anonymousreply 5April 5, 2020 4:50 PM

[quote] Jackie never spoke about it.

She may have, but that won't be released for many years.

by Anonymousreply 6April 5, 2020 4:51 PM

When it happened, did people believe that Oswald did it?

by Anonymousreply 7April 5, 2020 4:55 PM

Why would Jackie know anything about it other than her husband was assassinated and his head exploded on her? It was tragic but do you honestly think she saw who did it OR knew anything about the background intrigue (Cuba or Mafia)? How would she know any of that, she was totally disconnected from JFK and politics. Jackie isn't the key to what really happened.

by Anonymousreply 8April 5, 2020 4:57 PM

R7 People believed Oswald did it until he was shot (assassinated) by Jack Ruby.

by Anonymousreply 9April 5, 2020 4:59 PM

General Walker

by Anonymousreply 10April 5, 2020 5:03 PM

so odd that folks don't understand Oswald was a patsy for the mob, the military industrial complex, etc who wanted his ass dead. poor guy, still the most admired prez ever....

by Anonymousreply 11April 5, 2020 5:03 PM

[quote] Why would Jackie know anything about it other than her husband was assassinated and his head exploded on her?

Because after he died, she was surrounded by people who were in a position to know what the government knew but did not disclose. Why is it so hard to believe that she had access to information that was never made public?

by Anonymousreply 12April 5, 2020 5:04 PM

Why would the US government want him dead? It's not like he was going to pull out of Vietnam or accommodate the Soviet Union.

by Anonymousreply 13April 5, 2020 5:05 PM

Jackie needed assistance

by Anonymousreply 14April 5, 2020 5:10 PM

Both Joan Crawford and Richard Nixon were in Dallas for a Pepsi convention.

by Anonymousreply 15April 5, 2020 5:14 PM

Right-wing CIA faction pissed over the Bay of Pigs and Allen Dulles' firing, aided by a mob contract and abetted by Hoover's FBI, ultimately aiding Johnson.

No doubts.

by Anonymousreply 16April 5, 2020 5:16 PM

Conspiracy theorist often seem to put all the "Others" in one collaborated action to kill him. Military-industrial combat/CIA and the Russian communists working together to kill the President? Nah. Mob bosses and CIA? Nah.

Teamsters and the Cuban-connected mob/Cuban fascists pissed off because of Bay of Pigs. That's more logical. Hoffa hated the Kennedy boys.

by Anonymousreply 17April 5, 2020 5:17 PM

OP, I actually believe Oswald was a patsy for Russia.....there are different types of “useful idiots” they use, from those who consciously work for them, to those who suspect they are helping Russia but it’s not openly stated, and then those who have no idea. Oswald was in the middle and it is extremely possible that Russia infiltrated parts of the mob — hence Jack Ruby taking him out.

by Anonymousreply 18April 5, 2020 5:19 PM

Mob to get back at his dad

by Anonymousreply 19April 5, 2020 5:19 PM

There is a fairly plausible theory that he planned to pull a large portion of FBI funding, and so he was killed.

by Anonymousreply 20April 5, 2020 5:20 PM

R17, I don’t have a conspiracy bone in my body, but your second paragraph is thoroughly plausible.

by Anonymousreply 21April 5, 2020 5:20 PM

Do you think LBJ was clued in after the fact?

by Anonymousreply 22April 5, 2020 5:25 PM

Santo Trafficante and Carlos Marcello, Mafia kingpins out of Tampa and New Orleans, respectively.

Trafficante said as much on his deathbed, and Marcello confessed to a jailhouse snitch he knew would not be believed by authorities.

Both were smarter and cooler emotionally than Sam Giancana and and the other Mafiosi who are often named as possible assassination conspirators.

by Anonymousreply 23April 5, 2020 5:25 PM

It was Trump!

by Anonymousreply 24April 5, 2020 5:27 PM

Oswald. He was part of a conspiracy involving the mob, political figures, and J. Edgar Hoover. Dorothy Killgallen was onto it and was about the go public when she was snuffed out and her assassination files stolen.

by Anonymousreply 25April 5, 2020 5:32 PM

Kennedy often shared privileged info with Jackie.

R12 Because she was a selfish cunt. She had no interest in who killed her husband. She only cared about where she and her children would land. And she did pretty damn well, whoring herself out to Onassis. Hard to believe she had any interest in who/what got her out of that godawful marriage to JFK.

by Anonymousreply 27April 5, 2020 5:35 PM

My parents told me they were both watching TV when they saw Jack Ruby shoot Oswald. At that point, they said they both thought there was a conspiracy going on. After that, they believed that either Oswald was set up or at the very least that he was acting on behalf of someone else.

by Anonymousreply 28April 5, 2020 5:36 PM

R27 - she married Onassis for his money but also protection. She said herself that she doesn't know what's going on, but Kennedys are getting killed.

She married Onassis after RFK's assassination. I don't think she was selfish at all. Stop calling her a cunt for no reason.

by Anonymousreply 29April 5, 2020 5:38 PM

Oswald shot and hit Kennedy but secret service agent swung rifle up to fire back at the same moment car took off. Secret agent actually fired the shot that killed kennedy.

Now who was behind Oswald I have never made up my mind what I think.

by Anonymousreply 30April 5, 2020 5:38 PM

Sigh. President Lincoln, JFK (and his brother) - shot dead. But Trump goes on and on....

by Anonymousreply 31April 5, 2020 5:43 PM

R31 I know, right?

by Anonymousreply 32April 5, 2020 5:45 PM

Hillary and Obama, working together.

by Anonymousreply 33April 5, 2020 5:47 PM

R17. Many believe mob did it to get back at RFK. After it happened RFK said “it should have been me”. Theory is that mob believed to stop RFK investigations they needed to get rid of jfk. “To kill the snake cut off its head”. Dorothy Kilgallen -the investigative reporter - also tv personality-spent years investigating it. She was mysteriously murdered in her own home right before she was to meet mob people in New Orleans. She got very close to the truth. Her only file disappeared and was never found. Her murder was never solved.

by Anonymousreply 34April 5, 2020 5:47 PM

"President Lincoln, JFK (and his brother) - shot dead. But Trump goes on and on..."

And so did Hitler, Stalin and Mao, until their long, long over due ends. .

by Anonymousreply 36April 5, 2020 6:15 PM

There is evidence put forth in Lee Israel's biography of Dorothy K that Dorothy's last bf was a CIA operative. I think Dorothy was on to something, that she was fearless and had to be silenced.

by Anonymousreply 37April 5, 2020 6:17 PM

R37. I read Mark Shaw book. Similar. My take was the bf was a mob operative who gained access to her home.

R33 The right-wing conspiracy would have tried.

Hillary was age 16 and in high school when JFK as assassinated. Obama was an age 2 toddler.

Trump promoted the idea it was Ted Cruz's father that was involved. Trump's bud, David Pecker, ran the story in the National Enquirer during the 2016 GOP primaries.

by Anonymousreply 43April 5, 2020 7:26 PM

R37...that is my take as well. She was very close. Melvin Belli was also involved in the cover up.

by Anonymousreply 44April 5, 2020 7:54 PM

Dorothy Kilgallen was an investigative journalist? Ha ha. Dorothy Kilgallen was a gossip columnist, investigative journalist wannabe.

by Anonymousreply 45April 5, 2020 8:08 PM

Lee. Harvey. Oswald.

by Anonymousreply 46April 5, 2020 8:09 PM

WHOM do you think assassinated JFK?

by Anonymousreply 47April 5, 2020 8:13 PM

Mafia backed Pro-Castro group with assistance by rogue CIA agents (including Gorge HW Bush). They had it in for JFK ever since he refused to send military back-up for the Bay of Pigs incident. Lee Harvey Oswald was there with a rifle but he was very much the fall-guy patsy. Others in the grassy knoll and inside sewer grates whowere sharpshooters were the real killers. LBJ was aware there was a plan but was not directly involved in it. He just knew he was to replace him. The was an previous plan to kill JFK in Miami a few days earlier but the logistics fell apart, so Dallas became the better option.

by Anonymousreply 48April 5, 2020 8:15 PM

all i know is after watching "JFK" with costner and it being over 3 hours long and "it was the mafia, no, it was the cia, no, it was the cubans, no, it was the russians, no, it was racists, no, it was johnson, no, it was hoover, no it was so on and so on and so on and so on" that i thought as i sat in the theater, i don't give a crap who killed him now, just get this movie over with! actually remember this old man sitting up front who fell asleep and started to snore!

Supposedly George Bush (Sr) who was head of CIA at the time was in Dallas that day. It has sometimes been alleged he was part of the plot, but who knows? Sorry, no link.

by Anonymousreply 55April 5, 2020 8:28 PM

R45...Dorothy managed to get an interview with Ruby behind Hoover’s back. He hated her for that. Ruby didn’t like Belli’s defense. She had covered other high profile cases. She was admired by judges and got special treatment in the courtroom.

by Anonymousreply 56April 5, 2020 8:30 PM

JFK appointed his brother, RFK, Attorney General. (Yes, Trump is not the only one who ever appointed family members.) RFK made the Mafia (which was much more powerful back then) Public Enemy Number 1. That, coupled with Jack Ruby (alleged Mafia ties) sacrificing himself like a kamikaze (shooting Oswald then getting killed himself), lead me to believe it was Mafia-related.

by Anonymousreply 57April 5, 2020 8:37 PM

[quote] Supposedly George Bush (Sr) who was head of CIA at the time was in Dallas that day.

Jackie O absolutely knew, or had good knowledge on who, killed JFK. I think a lot of people know exactly who did it but saying it out loud would lead to libel/slander or you would look like a kook because you had no proof. Make no mistake, it is known who did it. Jackie O knew who did it and may have a recording that will be released in years to come.

by Anonymousreply 65April 5, 2020 9:39 PM

They buried JFK on my 21st birthday. I watched Jack Ruby kill Oswald on TV as well. If you woul spend time learning what really happened, this thread would be obvious bullshit.

I suppose we never landed on the moon either.

This thread is dark web Trumpism shit. I had a deplorable employee in my company that was always reciting this conspiracy crap. Why is it here on DL?

by Anonymousreply 66April 5, 2020 9:43 PM

Jackie shot him. Just look at the recently unclassifed, previously redacted frames of the Zapruder film. It couldn’t be more clear. She shoves a gun under his chin and shoots him. Every time I post a gif of it I get FF’d to oblivion. So look it up yourself. Jackie shot JFK. No question about it.

by Anonymousreply 67April 5, 2020 9:45 PM

by Anonymousreply 75April 5, 2020 9:58 PM

by Anonymousreply 76April 5, 2020 10:07 PM

The person who shot him.

by Anonymousreply 77April 5, 2020 10:08 PM

R48, have no idea where you get your info, but I think you're right about it all. The mob felt betrayed after helping the Kennedys win (some say cheat) the Presidency only to be targeted for elimination by RFK. I also believe that Johnson knew more and was directly involved. He had a very sketchy reputation and may have been involved in the murder of a political rival. Further, he wanted and believed that only a southern politician should deliver the Civil Rights Act. He hated Kennedy.

Didn't Theodore White, the esteemed political author and Kennedy favorite, have orders from Jackie to seal the information and release it after the deaths of her children and herself?

by Anonymousreply 78April 5, 2020 10:14 PM

-[quote] Didn't Theodore White, the esteemed political author and Kennedy favorite, have orders from Jackie to seal the information and release it after the deaths of her children and herself?

Certain information. Some of it was released in his book. The remaining information won't be released until 2067.

by Anonymousreply 79April 5, 2020 10:17 PM

[quote] He had a very sketchy reputation and may have been involved in the murder of a political rival.

Who was that? There have been so many well-regarded biographies on LBJ, I wonder what his biographers actually think. I am a historian but I don't know anything about the assassination. It's the kind of thing it's impossible to research because there is no paper trail.

by Anonymousreply 80April 5, 2020 10:18 PM

LBJ wasn't apart of the assassination and didn't know it was going to happen. At all. He probably found out fast who it was, or suspected, and thus we got into Vietnam to appease them. LBJ didn't want that fucking war.

by Anonymousreply 81April 5, 2020 10:29 PM

IMO, posters aren't saying Oswald was not the shooter. Posters are saying that Oswald was the shooter but was a patsy or a stooge who was killed (silenced) immediately after he shot JFK. To top it off, Ruby, who obviously killed Oswald, was silenced right after he killed Oswald. The speculation addresses the identities of the puppet masters.

I don't know but he had been Senate Majority Leader and arguably the most effective one ever. He knew where the bodies were buried. Maybe he thought that he could force Southern politicians to accept it whereas JFK could not. JFK and his brother also looked down on LBJ and didn't like him at all. That said I doubt he was involved in a plot but I bet he knew exactly what happened after the fact.

Ruby died in January of 1967, not right after killing Oswald.

And bear in mind that Ruby stopped at a Western Union office to wire some money to one of his dancers minutes before going to the police station. If he had planned from the start to kill Oswald there, why did he risk blowing his opportunity by going to Western Union first? His window of opportunity would have been very brief, why risk losing it by being delayed in wiring the money?

It was Lee. People just can't believe he did it but he did.

His own brother thought he did it. Lee wanted to be famous, feel important and he thought he was doing something good for the world. He saw himself in Cuba and thought he was standing up against American oppression.

He had a boring job at the book deposit and wasn't enjoying marriage and family life and did this. It was easy to for him to do. People don't want to think it's easy, but if you want to hurt someone, there are ways.

Conspiracies usually don't happen because collectively we're just not smart enough to execute them.

by Anonymousreply 116April 6, 2020 4:38 AM

So what did Jack Ruby say? What did they find out from him.

by Anonymousreply 117April 6, 2020 5:09 AM

r19 and r34 have it imo. r72 is partially correct. Joe wheeled and dealed with the mob (notably, Giancana) to deliver the 1960 election for JFK. They expected payback in the form of some protection and favor during his presidency, but Bobby was a different breed from his father and brother and was obsessed with a kind of moral anti-mob crusade.

Old Joe would have squashed his efforts and kept him in check, but he had a major stroke in late 1961 that left him completely incapacitated and unable to speak. Neither brother was fully aware of how much their father did a run-around with the mob, although JFK must have had an inkling. Without Joe's firm hand to intervene and halt Bobby's crusade, it sealed JFK's fate.

Frank Sinatra's late valet, George Jacobs, as much states this to be true in his memoir (a great read), as he was privy to some of Joe's talks with Sinatra at his Palm Springs estate before the election, as well as JFK's AND Giancana's. All three men visited Frank at his home. Sinatra himself believed the mob put the hit on his friend.

by Anonymousreply 122April 6, 2020 12:24 PM

Oswald was clearly behind and above the limo with JFK, Jackie and SS. However, in the Zapruder film, the front of JFK's head is blown off. If I could have italicized 'front' I would have for emphasis. And his entire body reels back, not forward. If Oswald was the lone gunman I never underwood this.

by Anonymousreply 123April 6, 2020 12:30 PM

Oswald.

by Anonymousreply 124April 6, 2020 12:35 PM

Clear case of suicide.

by Anonymousreply 125April 6, 2020 12:38 PM

probably syphilis, per Mr Noblet

"Oh, absolutely. Historically, syphilis is right up there with Germans. It wiped out the Romanovs, it decimated our fleet at Pearl Harbor, and of course, Fidel Castro impersonated Marilyn Monroe and gave President Kennedy a case of syphilis so severe that eventually it blew the back of his head off."

Miss Lindzie was only age 8 then. If she was another decade+ older at the time, menz politicians of wealth would have been venturing on a different course to satisfy rambling needs.

R126, JFK contracted a case of venereal disease so severe he underwent a circumcision at 18 in 1935.

The Mob. That’s it, that’s all.

by Anonymousreply 129April 6, 2020 3:03 PM

Oswald was kinda cute.

by Anonymousreply 130April 7, 2020 1:01 AM

Oswald had a thick 8 incher uncut

by Anonymousreply 131April 7, 2020 1:04 AM

Those skinny little guys will surprise you!

by Anonymousreply 132April 7, 2020 1:05 AM

The grassy knoll gunman had 9 inches.

by Anonymousreply 133April 7, 2020 1:23 AM

Oswald may have shot at him but again the ‘Magic Bullet’ that defies the laws of physics and ricocheted dozens of times means that there has to be another shooter.

by Anonymousreply 134April 7, 2020 1:40 AM

I agree with [R102}. Oswald's attempt on General Walker is the Rosetta Stone of the JFK assassination. Oswald did it for reasons the previous poster listed. He was an ineffectual, frustrated person who saw a chance to effect change and he took it.

Nellie Connolly gave the signal, and the Daughters of the Alamo fired away.

Where was our Faye that crisp November afternoon?

I've heard rumors she was a CIA assassin under mind control (explains the mood swings) that became a Hollywood legend as a cover.

Her role as Kathy Hale in Three Days of the Condor was an insider homage to her undercover work, a case of hiding in plain sight.

Oswald shot and killed Officer J. D. Tippit. It was witnessed. If Oswald was part of a conspiracy group, they sure didn't have a plausible escape plan for him. If Oswald was the fallguy, they would have set-up his escape and then dispose of him.

by Anonymousreply 141April 8, 2020 1:09 AM

Charles Harrelson, Woody Harrelson's dad, claimed he was the assassin.

A vast network. Who didn't want them gone? They picked too many fights with the wrong people. The Umbrella Man is still curious. The 'official story' is lame.

[quote]Who do you think assassinated JFK?

Ted Cruz's father.

by Anonymousreply 145April 8, 2020 3:53 AM

It was that bitch Carole Baskin.

[quote]R15 Both Joan Crawford and Richard Nixon were in Dallas for a Pepsi convention.

I have no doubt JC was capable of it. She didn’t take being brushed off after a 1 night stand well.

Joan Crawford was Irish so was Kennedy. I don't think she'd kill her own people. Especially not the first Irish president.

R66 The CIA shill has entered the chat.

It’s amazing how many resources are still being directed at suppressing the truth about the JFK assassination.

According to Oliver Stone, we may find out in July who did it:

[quote] This documentary film represents an important bookend to my 1991 film. It ties up many loose threads, and hopefully repudiates much of the ignorance around the case and the movie,” Stone wrote.

After Oliver Stone's soft-soap "W" film I don't care to hear anything he has to say.
