The New York Times reports the FDA announced “it was significantly loosening its recommendations for blood donations from gay and bisexual men, reducing the amount of time men who have had sex with men should wait before they give blood to three months from one year in hopes of ameliorating a drastic drop in supply during the coronavirus pandemic.” In a statement, the agency said “current policies regarding certain donor eligibility criteria can be modified without compromising the safety of the blood supply.”

If three months of abstinence is fine, wht wasn't this enacted years ago????
The truth is, there shouldn't be a waiting period at all.

Fuck them. If my blood wasn;t good enough for them, they won't get to make a profit off my blood.
I'll donate only if a relative or friend needs it. Otherwise, never

Don't give your blood to the hets. Think of what they've done to use. I hope they all die.

Fuck them for putting a law in place based on stereotypes of gay men. The lifetime ban was bullshit, but then the 'no gay sex for a year' was effectively a ban as well. Who abstains from sex for an entire year just to give blood?
They can test the blood for any infectious diseases, which they do anyway.
Screw 'em.
