Timothee Chalamet & Armie Hammer to Star in 'Call Me By Your Name' Sequel!
t’s apparently happening!
Timothee Chalamet, Armie Hammer and the rest of the cast of the beloved 2017 movie Call Me By Your Name are set to return for a sequel, director Luca Guadagnino confirmed in an interview with La Republica.
“Before coronavirus, I had a trip to the United States to meet a writer I love very much, whose name I don’t want to say, to talk about the second part. Unfortunately, we had to cancel it. Of course, it is a great pleasure to work with Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg, Esther Garrel and the other actors,” the director said.
“Everyone will be in the new movie,” he went on to say.
Timothee recently reflected on his experience shooting the movie due to the ongoing pandemic affecting the places where he filmed.

The book, which deals mainly with Elio's father's life with a new girlfriend, is one of the most disappointing things I have ever read. IIRC, we don't get to Elio until 53% of the way in, and Oliver is little but an afterthought.
No orgasm, r7. Just tears.

I expect it to be 75% them being apart and fucking other people, mostly women - save for one scene at a gay bar where Elio picks up a guy. The camera will then cut to a half-naked Elio sadly smoking alone on his balcony so you know he's definitely still pining for Oliver. They will be reunited almost by chance in the last quarter of the film, share one steamy kiss and it will be *implied* they also fuck.

[quote]All of the ideas Luca has shared about where he saw it going seem wildly divergent from what Aciman wrote
I'm not so sure about that, r40. From what I recall, Luca talked in terms of a number of different films charting the experiences of the various characters in the first book, rather than a strict sequel to the Elio/Oliver love story. So, Aciman's sequel does fit in with that, with the next threads to be picked up those about Elio's father.
Luca also talked about how he wants Oliver's wife to have a bigger role in the next movie and for them to have around 5 kids. Elio is supposedly a successful concert pianist living in Paris (highly implausible based on the first movie). I also recall reading that Luca and Aciman were supposedly working together on the next installment (which became Aciman's book, in which case the story about Elio's father fits with what Luca is also aiming at).

R57 literally who cares about the wife or other characters though? It should be a strict sequel to the love story. Like with Aciman's new novel, I'm not reading it since I don't care about Elio's father and his "journey" at all.

Ok, I'll weight in on this exceedingly silly discussion between R15, R55 and R56 etc. If the bulge was a prop, then it was a tacky, unnecessary choice. The characters just had sex in the attic so it should not be necessary to hit the audience over the head with the fact that Elio is also attracted to women. If the bulge was simply the actor's real reaction to kissing Esther and Luca left in this moment of him adjusting his pants, that is also a tacky choice for the same reason. We get it. He's bi. Why is Luca trying so hard to convince us? And presenting a clip of this pants adjustment as proof of the actor's sexuality is mind-bogglingly ridiculous. If there was a steamy love affair between Timothée and Esther, they concealed it really, really well. The attic sex scene was the most mechanical love scene I've ever seen on film, and in real life, there has never been a hint of anything but a professional relationship between the two.

Wrong, r67 / t68.
You, the CMBYN Cyberstalker, created multiple accounts to talk to yourself and spam 13 threads with two messages only: that CMBYN = pedophilia and no movie is good unless it shows male dong — a word you all got from me, in my original review of CMBYN on DL a year before the wide release of the movie.
I know it's you and you're mentally ill, because no innocent bystander would have an interest in defending your slander, your mental illness or your pig behavior.
I checked out of the CMBYN threads shortly after my review, because your broken-record accusations of pedophilia, actor sexuality and dongsploitation proved that YOU are the irrational one in need of a head shrinker and meds.
And on that, I will take my leave of this CMBYN thread, as it's clear the Hammermet Cyberstalker is prowling again while Muriel defends him.
She clearly can't control her own website and prefers to profit off of recurring trolls and sock puppet accounts more than hold anyone accountable or keep homophobes off of a gay site.

R109: I don't remember Call me by your name making the top 15 of the NYT list, and that book sold well even before the movie.
Of course it's way more important steady sales than selling well the first week and then sank.
The novel was overhyped, and frankly i was very surprised when i read Call me by your name that there was such unanimity about the quality of the book. His style is good but the story and the character are very far from being that great, and in my opinion it doesn't stand the comparission with other gay novels of the last decades.
And it annoyed me to death the fact that some people promoted it like a great gay novel written by a straight man, the fact that both characters have way more sex with women than with each other says a lot about it

R110, it was evident from the manner in which they promoted it that the publishers were expecting Find Me to be a big mainstream best seller, but it didn't catch on and a lot of fans seem to dislike it. The publishers had to have been disappointed in its performance. Call Me By Your Name was a quiet little piece of literary fiction until the movie, and the yardstick for what constitutes 'selling well' under those circumstances is pretty modest. Once the movie was released it finally made a brief appearance on the Times list, ten years after it was first published.

r122 I stan Charmie, the way most gay men do. I'm not saying it's always been easy for them, especially with Timmy's career and Armie's family keeping them apart as much as it does. But they still meet in secret when they can. They're a definite couple. You can tell from watching CMBYN.

R104
Luca's diet:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday – These 3 days are strictly focused on protein-rich diet. He starts with yogurt in the morning, prosciutto at midday, and chickpeas and prosciutto for the rest of the day and fish.
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday – His breakfast consists of brown bread with honey and some fruit. His next meal is a small portion of pasta and vegetables and some fruit, and then he eats fish.
Sunday – He eats whatever he likes on Sunday.

Somebody bumped this thread to...post an imaginary diet for Armie Hammer?
Self-isolation is really doing a number on some people.

Given the usual time stretch of the current Bump Bitch epidemic, r135, 17 days no longer counts as a bump.

Which is worse the Timothée trolls or the anti-Timothée trolls? I know a solution, if you aren't a fan regardless of the subject, ignore them. I do it all the time, it really is easy, if you aren't mentally ill.

Trolls of all things Timmy just fuck off. Put a dick in both the boy's holes and be done with him.

This is reportedly what Timothee Chalamet will look like in CMBYN 2. It will be the battle of the beards between him and his co-star Armie. Not bad....

r144 OTOH, r143 may be the "Lysol your pizza" guy. I thought he was kidding when I read that initially, but he (or someone) acknowledged that he had germophobia as a preexisting condition.

Hammer needs to be replaced. He was the worst part of the movie, not counting the silly story and dialogue. It's Chalamet who the public is clamoring for.

BLIND GOSSIP: 299. ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 04/26 **6** Now that the bearding relationship fell apart under the weight of isolation, perhaps now this not very nice A- list actor will decide to come out. Timothée Chalamet/Lily-Rose Depp (Lily-Rose Depp and Timothee Chalamet call it quits after one year of dating)

r151 There's no way Tim & Lily were isolating together. Whatever they had was over well before the announcement was made. Rona is just a convenient excuse.

R156 I don't even know why this is up for debate. He's not A list. R151 CDAN is full of shit and hates Timmy for some reason. He's the only one who spreads the "not nice" rumor about Timmy while every single person who has met him only has nice things to say about him. We've already speculated that he's buddy with Armie Hammer's wife, she hates Timothée for banging her husband and asks him to write those blinds. CDAN has also wrote about Armie and his wife being swingers for have sex in restaurant's bathroom when in reality Armie refuses to even kiss her in front of the cameras.

R157. How much did Timothee pay you to write such a forceful denial of him needing a beard?

Ditto to what R50 wrote, that is how it will go down. Remember, they need to draw in the hets to help make bank. We're lucky if Elio and Oliver have a deep longing kiss, let alone a sex scene that the camera pans away from.

R157, calm down, dear.
It could be anyone. CDAN's description is vague enough

The film was fuckin' boring as shit. Why the fuck is there a desire for a sequel?
Armie Hammer's character should've died of AIDS at the end of the film (it was the 80s) and then the ending would've been insanely tragic, wondering whether he infected this teenage boy.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | April 30, 2020 3:20 AM

R162 I'm very calm, thank you. CDAN's description is explicit enough for anyone who keeps up with celebrity news.

[quote]Ditto to what [R50] wrote, that is how it will go down.
R50 speaks the truth. With Esther Garrel returning as Marzia and Guadagnino shoehorning his hag Dakota in there, there's no way the sequel isn't going to mostly focus on the hetero side of their bisexuality. Which nobody gives a shit about.
