What movie is the lowest grossing major release of all time?

There are movies that didn't make any money, but a lot of those were dumped in theaters with no publicity. What's the lowest grossing movie that actually got a wide release and a decent publicity campaign?

Was it Gigli?

There are lots of movies that showed low grosses but not a loss but don’t meet your publicity requirement.

I would have suggested the recently demised CATS but looks like it lost about 25M...

Please let it be The Wife.

What about that Travolta mess about L. Ron Hubbard's book? I'm too lazy to look it up but that 'space adventure' by the Scientology founder went nowhere. I'm guessing that the cult bought all the rights to keep it out of the public eye.

I say Rock the Kasbah with Bill Murray. Major star, decent ad campaign, wide release 2k theatres and a fucking massive bomb. $1m opening, $3m total

Also, The Adventures of Pluto Nash which is worse than R8 because of the massive budget

The Goldfinch

R10 hardly it made $9m
