Gap Playlists on Official Instagram & Spotify!

Gap has started a series of stories on Instagram and playlists on Spotify thanks to my efforts to recover and archive all of the Gap In-Store Playlists from 1992 to 2006.

In these stressful times, it's nice to listen to some great music that reminds us of treasured moments from the past.

This is very exciting! I hope people enjoy the music.

Also, if you worked at Gap and saved the paper playlists that came with each month's CD/tape, please contact me on Instagram or my Gap In-Store Playlists blog and share them with me and the world.

This is really incredible! Already, several people are saying that they also saved playlists and are going to look for them at their houses.

And Gap just LOVES this! They are really excited for this series.

I love that Gap often played Saint Etienne, one of my favorite bands!

by Anonymousreply 34April 10, 2020 7:06 PM

That's how I got to know Saint Etienne was because of all of the songs on Gap playlists in Spring 1993.

"Spring"

"People Get Real"

"Mario's Café"

"You're In A Bad Way"

"Join Our Club"

... and dozens more through the years!

by Anonymousreply 35April 10, 2020 7:20 PM

They are such an underrated band. Have you heard their recent stuff? They are still fabulous.

by Anonymousreply 36April 10, 2020 9:22 PM

Just today, someone pointed me in the direction of their latest album, which I'm going to download. I hadn't heard much since their 2005 album until today.

Strange coincidence, huh?

GapGuy, what’s the earliest playlist you have? I’m curious as to when they started.

by Anonymousreply 51April 16, 2020 2:12 AM

The oldest Gap playlist I currently have is September 1993. However, before losing them in 2006, I had from June 1992 and up. I really hope someone out there has 1992 and 1993 playlists.

I don’t know when Gap started using music services. Probably sometime in the Seventies.
