It’s awful the Doctors need to figure out who is the worst to help first while the others wait. This is scary and sad.
And real. To all those people who say it’s bullshit.

I read they are so low on Nurses that they are graduating some Nurses early from college to help with the epidemic.

Where's that troll that said blacks were immune?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 28, 2020 10:37 PM |
Blacks aren’t immune. They just aren’t getting as severe a strain as whites.

My sister is a retired RN and she got a call begging to come back to work. She is doing phone triage from the comfort and safety of her home to free up other nurses needed on the front lines.

News is down playing this
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 28, 2020 10:49 PM |
How do you do phone triage from home?

Why is the virus’s epicenter in queens?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 28, 2020 10:57 PM |
R8 it isn’t. It’s epicenter is Brooklyn. Brooklyn has the most cases followed by Manhattan.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 28, 2020 11:02 PM |
Something has to be done about China and their wet markets.
This is beyond insane.
I hope the majority of people fully recover.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 28, 2020 11:13 PM |
The epicenter is Brooklyn.
Brooklyn
Manhattan
Queens
Bronx
Staten Island
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 28, 2020 11:15 PM |
R9, R11 Please see the below link.
Queens now has the highest percentage of total cases for NYC (32%), followed by Brooklyn (26%) and the Bronx (19%). Manhattan is at 17% and Staten Island comes in last at 6%.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 29, 2020 12:09 AM |
Damn. The numbers certainly changed from a few days ago.
Manhattan is filled with tourists that took it elsewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 29, 2020 12:12 AM |
The Bronx is gonna be the next epicenter.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 29, 2020 12:16 AM |
The Bronx and Manhattan aren’t far apart. 🙄🙄🙄
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 29, 2020 12:18 AM |
Jamaica Queens is a very crowded and busy area because of the LIRR
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 29, 2020 12:19 AM |
Yeah it’s the same population demographics between Manhattan and the Bronx. Same exact crowd.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 29, 2020 2:02 AM |
Seriously r7, you take all cases that are calling in and assign priority. This is a war zone.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 29, 2020 5:35 AM |
Doesn’t look like nothing worse than the flu any more, does it, Americans?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 29, 2020 5:42 AM |
Why can't sick New Yorkers drive 20 or 30 minutes to less crowded suburban hospitals? It might take a little longer to arrive, but they would be seen and treated quicker.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 29, 2020 11:51 AM |
Drive, R20? We don’t have cars you ding dong. We get around on foot or by subway.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 29, 2020 12:08 PM |
R20, the outbreak pretty much started in Westchester, and all suburban hospitals are overwhelmed. One wouldn’t necessarily get better treatment if they travelled to another hospital. NY is already moving non critical patients upstate. You have to realize that the entire state only has 3000 ICU beds. The Jacob Javits convention center will open as a hospital tomorrow with 1000 beds and the Navy ship enroute will add another 1000 beds and 1200 medical professionals.
Right, this is just like the flu. For anyone who still believes this, I hope you get infected and die, but not before you infect and kill your loved ones.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 29, 2020 2:18 PM |
Nurses can go to NY and make $100 an hour. Of course they are dying daily but hazard pay is quite an incentive.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 29, 2020 2:32 PM |
Many of them are getting sick.
Suburban Hospitals are overwhelmed also.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 29, 2020 2:45 PM |
Hazard pay nurses still make much less than a mediocre lawyer. The system is fucked up.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 29, 2020 2:48 PM |
There’s already been a thread on this.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 29, 2020 3:51 PM |
HIPAA violation to film these patients without their consent
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 29, 2020 4:04 PM |
Well they are idiots, the patients should be flipped over on their stomachs so they can breathe easier. Stupid American doctors.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 29, 2020 4:32 PM |
Bystanders/regular citizens are not bound by HIPAA.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 29, 2020 5:38 PM |
I’m scared.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 29, 2020 7:06 PM |
[quote]and Staten Island comes in last at 6%.
Even the virus has limits.
