Shirts cost about $70

Not a shirt or pants, but last year I ordered a suit from Indochino. You go into their store, take measurements once, which takes about 45 minutes including choosing fabrics etc. Once they have your measurements, and you don't think that they have changed at your next order, you can just order online. In terms of fabric, it makes sense to go to a brick and mortar store if you want to really feel it. For a suit this might be even more important, maybe less so for casual shirts and pants.
The selection was pretty good, and the suit fits well. In hindsight I think I should have selected a different fabric, but that's on me, not them. The price was in the range of a mid-price suit, like Calvin Klein.
Overall, it was a good experience. Bringing it back to your topic of shirt and pants: I don't think they have pants, just very formal trousers. But the dress shirts may be right for you, OP, if you are looking for something for the office.

Is this a good idea for us fatties?

It's a good ideas for everybody who doesn't have a norm sized physique. I have rather tall upper body so need shirts that a longer, not wider. So custom made is a good idea for everybody who wants or can afford it.

Only once from an independent tailor. Turned out beautifully. White shirt with small blue boxes. My partner got a black one with small white boxes. So crisp and comfortable and fit perfectly. Wish I still had it.

Apps take your measurements by having you spin around a few times in your underwear and sending that video to the app.
Apparently they come close to figuring out your exact size

R3, thanks for that Indochine recommendation. I was wondering how they were

I did -using paper cloth — the app was terrible but I returned it to their showroom/store And they re-measured. The end product is better than my last set of custom tailored shirts (Tom James).

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
