Both. The Hitchhiker was sort of the Rod Serling of the show, where he’d bookend each episode with a description of the subject of that episode (typically an antagonistic character) and what they were about to be in for. Sometimes the subject would walk or drive right past him at the beginning.

Lots of episodes showed tits, ass (men and women), and there were a lot of good guest stars over the years. One of my favorites happened to be the last episode, which had Rae Dawn Chong.
