But you would think IF a condom was used, then that would protect both parties from the Coronavirus

If you can't protect your eyes/nose/mouth from the other guy's potentially infected saliva/mucus/etc, having a condom or not doesn't matter. Condoms don't protect against the aerosolized droplets from a sneeze.
