Hurting the economy "could be worse than losing a few more people," Paychex founder Tom Golisano told Bloomberg.
They have a point. The world does need less people too.

Actually the world needs less billionaires.

" Fewer," not " less."

What are all the grammar trolls going to do when all the illiterate morons have been killed off, and they're the only ones left in the world?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 26, 2020 2:17 PM |
Ignorant and soulless cunts, you mean. What these fuckers can't seem to grasp is that it's not just about the people who will die from the virus, it's that by not locking things down properly and for a sufficient duration, you are just going to prolong the spread and increase the likelihood of overwhelming your country's healthcare system, which will then have a knock-on effect in itself.
This relentless pursuit of profit over people has got to end.

A fewer grammar trolls.

Great. The billionaires advocating for going back to work can lead by example, with them and their families doing it first.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 26, 2020 2:29 PM |
It's going to sound very silly due to the movie I'm using, but employees need to think of themselves as those ants in the animated film "A Bug's Life." They collect all of the food, working themselves to death just to provid for themselves and tons for the bully grasshoppers. Then it dawns on them that there's more of them and grasshoppers need them, not the other way around.
Employees need to stand together and tell billionaires to go to hell. There is not a single billionaire who is "needed." The companies run without them.

I love that he thinks if the choice is economic or health risk that we would choose the health risk.
So out of touch....

The issue in not really billionaires want people back, they want a timeline. It's one thing to say, this will last till May 1st, because then they have a timeline and can prepare for it
But when it's up in the air it causes panic.

Billionaires literally want us to die. The GOP literally wants us to die.
I cannot understand why so many people refuse to see it.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 26, 2020 3:04 PM |
R10 I agree. They want only the rich around. I’ve said this many times in the past b

R1 & 2 are both correct.

Countable nouns must be preceded by "many," "several," or "fewer" (these are determiners used with plurals).
DAMN IT, YOU UNLETTERED!!! Coronavirus help us all!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 26, 2020 4:08 PM |
I would be fine being quarantined with R2 and R15.
We may die, but at least our farewell letters will be probably proofread.

17 take him Corona please!

Without us, they wouldn't be billionaires. They need us to buy their products, to take out mortgages, to keep their banks afloat, to staff their hospitals, etc.

These selfish cunts are finding out what it's like to not make record breaking profit for the first time in a long time. Besides overloading the broken healthcare system, very few people have discussed how the medical bills will affect "the precious economy". As if that cost won't be passed down to everyone and cause bankruptcy for families.
I had a feeling this sentiment was behind Trump's desperation for getting back to it. I was really hoping the one good thing out of this, would be that the people realize their power -- that we can demand better by simply refusing to play along, and the government could do more for people -- if they wanted to.

Canada is doing a lot more than the USA is.

I just realized that for Dump, and most of these scumbags, their idea of 'going back to work' means sitting their own huge, private office and anyone who enters, to tend to their whims and egos, is always at least a desk length away, unless that whim is a bj. So, they basically have zero reference for work conditions which involve physically being near or in bodily contact with other humans. And they don't consider the people they can think of who do work that involves dangerous contact, like the under the table, illegal immigrants they pay sub-minimum wage to clean up their messes, to be actual human beings any way.

I hope and pray R2 and R15 will be making appearances at their local city morgues, beautifully arrayed on a gurney, waiting for an ice box to become available.

The media containing to act like we have a clear cut choice between either everyone dying or everyone remaining locked inside for the rest of eternity makes me despise the media even more than I already did.

R23 very true. They are completely disconnected from reality. I remember when Romney ran for office, he had no idea what the cost of basic grocery items were. I remember a few other politicians not knowing much about the cost of living either. With Romney, some Republicans tried excusing him by saying they wouldn't know it either, but I really feel his cluelessness about every day costs hurt him a lot.
How can politicians work for us if they don't know what the average American deals with? They don't have to worry about child care, eating, shelter, or medical care.
Notice, they've never offered to give up their insurance being funded, but have no problem denying others insurance, by calling it "socialism".
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 27, 2020 12:36 PM |
R25 Well that's definitely a problem, but what gets me most, is the attitudes after only a week! They act as if this had been a month. Last time there were bailouts, it wasn't decided just a week in. It wasn't taken care of until it was obvious what and where the damage was. I'm horrified that these companies couldn't make it one damn week, but regular Americans are supposed to sacrifice their health right away, cause "the economy!"
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 27, 2020 12:43 PM |
R24, you have nothing better to pray for? Must be a nice life. You sound like an evangelical Republican.
