Tasteful Friends: Jackie on Assistance - Weekender Edition
...where she could get all the ketchup she needed...
Lyford Cay Residence With Panoramic Views. $5,500,000 USD
"They entertained constantly on Winter weekends. It was a glittering roster of friends including Jackie Kennedy and her sister Lee Radziwill. Slim Aarons shot iconic photos of the Radziwill children at the house in the early 1970s. At the beginning of each Winter season Mrs Heinz would have the house completely covered in thatch, creating a bohemian Island Fantasy."

The facade looks like a generic Barbie Dreamhouse model.

It looks like a nice, high-end vacation rental, albeit with a fancy pool. Very nice, but very generic. The description containing more about the prior owners’ social habits than the house itself is a giveaway that the house is nothing special. At least not as far as $5 million dollar houses go. I don’t think the photos are very good. They seemed distorted and I couldn’t get a good sense of the outdoor space. Maybe because I viewed them on my phone.

Looks like a cruise ship, outside and inside.

From the outside, it looks inviting, if generic -- lots of windows, balconies/ terraces, pool, etc.
The inside is incredibly blah and uninviting-looking, though. WTF is that tiki-style decor with bamboo doing everywhere? Was the decorator trying to evoke the 60's Heinz/Radziwill era? It's a fail, anyway.

How could they have entertained without an open concept kitchen?

Don’t yell at me, I searched out the first Jackie thread I could find. I’m reading “Just Jackie“ by Ed Klein, focusing on her years after the White House. It’s a pretty good read. I’m up to the part where Maurice Tempelsman is becoming important in her life. I have to say I do and don’t understand that relationship.

Here's the Barbie Luxury Mansion. Good call, R3. I thought "Barbie Dream House" when I saw the photo.
House looks cheesy.
