For those DLers who aren't retired eldergays, I am curious to see the affect it has had on this board.
How has covid-19 affected your job situation?

My manager allowed me to work from home as I am over 60.

Digital Agency - all American and International offices are working remotely

I’m very lucky to work from home now. My job is very technical and I don’t need to see people face to face.

I am almost ashamed of how well my job is treating me (and all the employees) especially as I am new there. there will be no lay offs, 2 additional weeks of virus specific sick time, mostly working from home, virus related dr bills not covered by insurance paid by work (I believe, they mentioned that but it's not in writing). everyone is super involved with helping make the place run efficiently and the director is putting in more hours than anyone else by far.

Hiya R7! I'll give you a smooch if we ever meet in person...if any of that will ever be allowed again.

A decent number of respondents so far who are not working but still getting paid, I'm jealous.

My husband’s company just cancelled their merit increases and bonuses for last year. Fuckers.

I already work from home so, in theory, there's no difference. Also, I'm currently on FMLA because of surgery. I texted one of my coworkers who normally works in the office, and she told me that nearly everyone has been told to work from home. I'll be interested to learn how many people return to the office once the restrictions are scaled back.

I look forward to returning to the office. Working from home is going to get me fat! I can't help snacking.

R12 I'm an endomorph (naturally fatter person). With all gyms and boutique studios closed, I've taken to running an hour every day to avoid putting on the pounds. TRX straps arrived via Amazon today and I will start working out with those tomorrow.
They just opened up a really nice gym next to my office too. I was literally going every day.

I work in public administration so my work is safe. The pay sucks though.

Sorry, meant to say my job is safe. Also sorry for the double post.

I am a mental health nurse working in addictions. I will be working as normal at my office till the end of next week, then I will be working from home providing telephone support and organising prescriptions for two weeks. It’s to avoid having too many people in the building at once.

I'm in the IT field here in the SF Bay area and have always worked from home with occasional office visits. No change here other than husband is now working from home as well since his company (and most others) want no one in the office. Having him here is nice, but I don't like my gym being closed and the minimal shopping outings. The days seem to be running together now. I'm very grateful to still be working and I'm helping out friends who are not.
A more realistic description is that it's currently 1:30pm, I've been working all morning, but I haven't showered yet, and I still have remnants of last night's lube and cum on me. Must shower before I take the dogs for a walk. Then back to the laptop all the while looking forward to tonight's new episode of Schitt's Creek.

I work in sales for an Essential Company, and the rumor is mass lay offs are coming.
We had 30% of our business cut in March, and April is looking far worse.
I have about 100K saved thank god, but I will have to move immediately as rent is way too high.. Praying that I will have 50K left as my gut tells me economy will come back by 1st quarter 2021 and there will definitely be good sales jobs. (I love selling, and I am actually not a sociopath like most of em'!)

I'm self employed and work from home anyway. I can do deskwork, phone calls, etc. as usual, however much of my work is "in the field" and I'm not able to do it with places closed and people avoiding contact. So I won't be able to bill for that type of work for the next several weeks, which willl greatly affect my income.
That said, being self employed with ups and downs in the amount of work that comes in, I've gotten adept at saving and budgeting to weather the slow times. I'm treating this as a (enforced) slow time.

My partner got laid off from his 16 year job in a Dealer Auto Service area. I am still working, it in the public in a store that is essential, but my part of the store is not essential. I worry about carrying anything back to my 88 year old mother.

Creative freelancer here and all worked stopped on March 13. Every job cancelled. Lost a ton of work and income. I have some savings and I’ve been through slow periods before, so trying not to freak out. And completely unmotivated to do any projects either.

This situation reminds me of the New York City area immediately after 9-11. Very quiet, little plane traffic, schools closed, everyone in a daze, and few people on the streets as we regrouped.

If you’re involved in bankruptcy field, you’re preparing to not sleep for the next year. At least the job is safe.

R25- The thought has already crossed my mind (from the other end)
I would say Chapter 7's will massively gear up first quarter 2021- The attorneys may have a nice summer at least. (Well, quarantined wherever they are)..
